Dec 06, 1996 Toronto Maple Leafs Tie Domi
1pd 08:00 New York Rangers Darren Langdon
Comments: They drop em off the faceoff and Domi has the lefts going, throwing four in a row. One uppercut lands, then he throws about ten more punches, with four landing as Langdon just hangs on. Langdon finally answers with a right that grazes Domi. They grapple, and then Domi gets the jersey over Langdon's head and throws two lefts, one looking to land. After the last punch, Langdon gets the jersey back up over his head, and they wrestle each other to the ice.

domi in his prime -- strong as a bull, wicked fast left hooks, full rotation on the swing. plus a rock for a melon. he could plant his feet and throw with the toughest of them. best under-5'10 hockey fighter ever.

Langer stands here but got a CLEAR LOSS from Tughir.
Domi landed clearly more.

This is one of the very few "clear" losses of Langdon's career, but it was not as bad as I remembered it. Langdon starts out as usual content to let his opponent wear himself out by allowing him to throw punches that miss. And most of Domi's lefts were just missing. However, Domi surprised Langdon by using his right to pull his shirt into his face, giving Domi a brief advantage. Langdon somehow managed to get himself out of danger without any damage being done, but in doing so he lost his balance, and Domi wrestled him down. It was a great job by Domi not allowing Langdon to control the match his way, but no damaging blows landed & it ended with a simple takedown.

Domi wins. Langdon wrestles too much, and punches too little.
