yeah. mccabe was obviusly off balance. butwatch the fight, all he cared about was AVOIDING KOVALCHUKS punches. i dont believe this. LMAO. next up: alex ovechkin vs ian white( who seems toget every non fighter in the world to go with him)

This is why you have to "show up" to a fight. Now you have to live with the embarrassment of losing to Ilya Kovalchuk.

Kovalchuk clearly showed he is one of the top tier players in the NHL...McCabe is trash and Kovy took the garbage out!

It was great to be in the stands for this bout. Thrasher fans love the "Angry Russian"

Kovalchuk is an undeniable brawler, and he has no mercy. By definition, I'm pretty sure that makes him a good fighter for the NHL.
I was at this game, close enough to the ice to hear some of the punches connect, and I'll say I was practically seizuring with excitement to see Kovy get in a fight. And now I see why he gets in so few of them: it's beyond a fight for fight's sake, he's genuinely pissed every time he throws a punch.
It's not like George Parros' fights, or especially not like the "fights" provoked by the Rangers' Avery with a cheap shot from behind; it's a beating to make a point, and make his opponent-no, his victim, feel some serious pain.
Can he be considered a veteran fighter thought he's only been in a handful of fights? I think so.

You want to see a real superstar fight and not drag a man to the ice and pray that the officials step in before any real fists are thrown (or how a Captain actually goes man vs man without having a teammate hold the opponent down while you hit him in the nads) then watch this clip.

What ****tard said this was a draw? Really? or that McCabe won?

I would love to see Kovy and Crosby go next year but you know Crosby doesnt have the guts to have a real fight with anyone, much less Kovy.

There is something really cool about the latest batch of Russians (Malkin, Ovechkin, Kovalchuk) that you just have to love. Win Kovalchuk in an unexpectedly great showing. That's why he has the "C".

Kovalchuck always wins when he throws them.

PS detfan- if the "det" stands for detroit- you know where the real sh*thole is.
There's a reason Atlanta's growing at +20% a decade and detroit is shrinking at an even greater rate. You're an idiot. All detroit is good for is getting to Windsor!
