Nice to see Downey back! Wings need him if they are going to go anywhere. They need some toughness or teams like Calgary or San Jose will run them into the ground! Close fight but I have to give it to my man from Shelburne, Downey!

Anyone catch the MMA Anderson Silva-like bow/4arms early on by Downey? Great fight though by even combatants...Janssen with the slight edge.

This might be the best fight I've seen in a while. Great exchanges and single blows from both players. Long fight and it never slowed down! I do think Jannen got the better of it, landing more blows and being more aggressive. Win to Jannen in a great fight.

Fight of the Year candidate right here. An amazing, grueling battle where I give the win to Jannssen but it was very close.

The real winners are Downey who should be kept with the team as a result of this battle, the Red Wing players who finally have an enforcer, and the fans who have been missing this for far to long. I guarantee additional tickets sold as a result of his call up. The Wings are one of the most boring teams in sports to watch even though they are so hockey talented. Fighting makes hockey what it is and Downey changes the whole complexion of the team.

Management in Detroit made a terrible mistake playing all year without him or any enforcer even though they are still a good team, the team lost revenue by NOT having a tough guy or two. It aint that hard to figure out and when all hope in Detroit looks lost because of the economy, people turn to sports. Give them what they want!

Wow... What a great fight. One of the better scraps I've seen this year. Toe to toe. Neither guy trying to wrestle the other to the ground. Neither guy content with just hugging and holding. Great toe to toe action and the crowd goin' nuts. Spirited old time hockey at its best.

I gave it a draw as both guys had their fair share of throws, hits, and misses.

Nice work boys!

If half of the punches thrown by both guys connected neither would have skated off. I will give it a 9 for show and intent but 5 for reality. I call it a draw but if I had to pick one over the other. slight edge to Cam. But I call it a draw.
The announcers I would say "a bit over zealous"

Both these guys keep their balance and put on a real show.

Best fight so far this year, Downey lands more but Janssen lands the bigger punches, to close to call this one either way so its a draw to me.

Great tilt. Slight edge for Janssen for connecting more. Too bad we had to listen to the goof balls!

See, this is why I like the middleweights better than the heavyweights. They're smaller so they don't have as much of their own weight to lug around, and it shows when the fights go longer, like this one. Also, they don't kill one another with heavy haymakers like the heavies sometimes do. And they tend to have better balance, probably because they're that much shorter.

I'll take a good middleweight scrap over a monster heavyweight bout any day of the week.

Is Janssen considered a God since he is a STL native? I bet so.. and with good reason. I love the guy.

anyway, great fight. John Kelly is not exactly the most unbiased announcer. He has a lonnnng history with STL.

W Janssen. with a few more solid connects.
