One of the best fights of the year, very, very slight edge to Janssen as he landed the bigger punches.

Great fight...if anyone claims downey or jannsen a winner than your are a tool. This was an outright draw. Hell of a fight. Way to go boys...that is how it is done!

This could be up for FotY if more landed. One hell of a fight, and its nice to see the Wings get somewhat tough.

Janssen get the edge here.

That was a good fight! A lot of punches failed to land, but it didnt stop these two from throwing them. As a Wings fan I cannot express my excitement enough to see Downey in the line up again. We need this, you can't tell me that this did not get the bench going. Not to mention Downey's character is that of a man who knows his role and is not afraid to do his job. Babs leave him in there and forget about Mac. Hell you can even drop Maltby to keep him in the line up.

Elbowed the helmet, ok! Good long scrap, even out on blows: draw.

Both guys took a beating from the other one, went back and forth, no hugging like Donald Brashear does, just 2 guys dropping the mitts and having a dance..... Great fight....

For as long as that fight was and as many punches were thrown, only a couple landed and none of them landed flush.

This was a great fight. I was there about 20 rows from the ice right next to the fight. I was sitting next to two Detroit fans. We all agreed it was a 10-9 round for Janssen. Out of the full swing punches, Janssen landed a few more. Downey had more of the rabbit type punches. Both did land a lot in the scheme of things even though they missed alot. It was a long fight. They respected each other, and the linesman even went behind Downey, I think, to keep him from hitting his head as it looked as if he might fall. I think that the league has warned the officials to try to stay close to keep heads from hitting the ice as this is themost dangerous point in these fights.

Good scrap, but I do'nt see how this is rated an 8.7
Maybe in terms of length, but quality wise maybe a 6.
Not many punches were landing, but entertaining nonetheless.

Good job by Downey because I think Janssen is a better fighter and should have won. Good fight, give it a draw.
