Not dirty...if player on his arse continues to throw, I think man standing is obligated to do the same. that said, Gleason still gets the edge for quality of blows landed and for cojones.

Gleason is the man! and the fact that he gave Carcillo a concussion makes me smile for some reason.

Got to give it to a guy who is landing them nicely while he's on his back.

for a guy to say that carcillo was throwing at gleason while gleason was going down, and then to tell everyone to open their eyes, is ridiculous...because really you should open your eyes and see that gleason is on the ice carcillo throws AFTER gleason is down and gleason responds, win to gleason

I can't believe anyone is saying Gleason was still on his feet when Carcillo started to throw at him. Have any of you ever thrown punches? Did you even watch the fight?

My guess is Carcillo was POd because he got tagged with a solid uppercut and couldn't take losing. Total punk move. I had nothing against Carcillo until this fight (well, other than his total lack of discipline last season), but the fight clearly goes to Gleason and either the league or Gretzky should take Carcillo out of the game for a while. Punching a guy's head into the ice is the kind of impact the league is talking about minimizing with the helmets-and-fighting noise.

Gleason gets cut and Carcillo leaves the game with a mild concussion, due to the fight.
Gleason is a BEAST!
This guy is an legitimate brawler playing for a small market team that doesnt get the exposure it deserves!

Anyone who votes otherwise, needs to stay out of the Phoenix sun!

I have no qualms about awarding the win to Gleason. First of all, he dominated standing, then was still throwing and landing from his backside. I thought the "rule" was that once the opponent was down on the ice you quit throwing, but Matthew Barnaby was right, the respect is no longer there. Carcillo had a great marathon fight earlier this year in Columbus, but he got handled, even from the Gleason's bottom on the ice. Carcillo lost a couple points for throwing while Gleason was down.

carcillo is a disgrace to the nhl

Both landed plenty of blows. I give Gleason the nod due to the fact that he continued to deliver and hit with his ass on the ice.
