Jody Shelley vs Jared Boll

A textbook DRAW.


Boll did very well against a seasoned veteran HW in Shelley.

It looks like at 0:29 Boll stopped his take down of Shelly? The most entertaining part of this fight was thinking of what 'could have been' had these guys really wanted to mash vs. just getting their respective teams going. There were some great hits throughout this game, this fight was just the by product of a little justice being dished out as it was early a shift if I remember correctly ?

I was at the game and I think Shelley's fire wasn't there due to not wanting to fight any players from the Blue Jackets. He had made some comments that alluded to this a while back. I was at the game and Boll tried to initiate in the period before this one but Jody just pushed him away and refused to go.

I think it's a respect issue and Shelley still having a soft spot for Columbus. I'm glad to see him having success in San Jose.

Fight was a draw. Go Jackets!

Edge to Shelley, particularly for making good contact at the beginning of the bout. If I had to specify, I'd say Shelley took the first half of the fight and the latter half was more of a hug-fest.

I gave this one a draw, and it should be a draw. I rated it an "OK" fight, because it only happened for the fans. This fight was pre-meditated for the fans because everyone in Columbus loved Jody, and now they love Boll, and these guys knew it. Jody said leaving Columbus was one of the hardest things he ever had to do because he loved it here.
Neither of these guys seemed that into it because it was all just for "old times sake." Even though Boll took Shelley's place, Shelley and Boll don't really dislike one another. Boll considers him a mentor in some ways. It was nice to see, and a good thing for the fans in Columbus, which is the only reason it was an "OK" fight, based on the fight itself, it was a horrible fight because neither guy was into it.

I liked that first punch by Shelly that you can barely see.

2 Prolific fighters. I'm used to seeing Shelly fight with a lot more pizazz. He was landing Jersey jabs with the left but looked like he was falling asleep when throwing rights. Boll looked game throughout, but didn't quite have enough position to land convincingly. These guys draw. What a shame.

I guess the anouncers had a better view of this scrap then I did as I saw one punch land by Shelley. Both guys missed with shots then landed.
