If Phaneuf played the same way against everyone, we could all say "Ok, fine, thats the way he plays the game.". Why is it that Dion never throws these hits against Shelley of Ivanins ? This kid has been picking his spots since he came into the league. Now, before you ask me about his big fight with so & so, answer my question first. Why nev er against a guy who will turn around and kick his ass ?

That hit was more Umbergers fault it wasn't dirty. I've played the game and you are taught not to put yourself in that position for that reason.
Everytime I see Phaneuf fight I think of when he dropped the gloves and wiped out on the stick. The guy was laughing so hard he couldn't fight him any more. This fight sucked.

Not much of a fight, as methot pretty much controlled it. the big story here is the hit on Umberger. Was Umberger selling it or Did Phaneuf really pivot that hard. Don't think Umberger had any major damage here. For real damage, Check out the hit Brian Campbell (Colin Campbell's kid) laid on Umberger in the Sabres-Flyers playoff series a few years ago. Funny enough, there is also a fight in the archives in which Umberger beat Campbell a year and a work stoppage after the hit.

Dion Phaneuf is nothing but a cheap shot punk. I understand playing hard and finishing your checks, but he is always taking runs at people. It's about time someone finally stands up to him and actually gets him to drop his gloves. Usually he hides behind his shield and other teammates, and refs!!!
