Slaney hit Messier near center ice and Linden went right after him. Linden dropped his gloves, and Slaney went into the turtle. Linden threw a few punches, no damage done. Petit came in to try and help out Slaney and Babych grabbed Petit and threw off his gloves. He threw a few rights at Petit then they both held on until the linesmen broke them up. Other Penalties: Slaney received a kneeing; Linden a game misconduct. John Slaney did not receive a fighting major.
