Another win for Lucic. The guy is 20 and the bozos want him to fight Laroque. What a joke. Give him a couple of years and I would be he will be heavyweight champ. I dont think a professional fighter would start with the champion when they are twenty. Its just a matter of time. In any event I really think his role is not to be the enforcer but to play and hit people. When its time to go and that means for the good of the team I would bet on him every time. The critics are not hockey fans but just fight fans. Thats ok but the context of the fight is what really matters.

You guys that bitch and moan just don't get it. Other than Edwards, no one is crowning him the heavyweight king. He is already, at 20, turning into a good hockey player, not just a thug like your precious BGL. In 2-3 years this guy will be scoring 30 goals a year. Do you want to screw with that kind of development by telling him to fight all the time. The "enforcer" on this team is Thornton, because that's the only thing he does. Lucic fights old style "swing and get swung at". Fighting like that offers you the chance to land something big, but also opens yourself up to getting cracked yourself. On any given day someone can lose to someone they shouldn't. Is it smart, maybe not, but he has more balls than BGL and his hold and wrestle. About one in 5 maybe, of BGL's fights is actually anything worth watching. Of course he is tough, anyone would be crazy to not think it, but he is not the god so many think.

I like watching this kid Lucic play. That's the operative word here - play.
He's on a pace for 25 goals and 60-65 points. He's practically still a teenager, and is going to get considerably stronger. The fact that he can whip almost anybody is pure gravy. Erskine got the drop on him last year, and if you fight enough you're gonna lose a few. BGL just got his ass kicked by that Islanders rookie. It happens. Don't forget Lucic held his own last year with Ivanitis, and the Bruins as a team don't need one guy to protect everybody else. Thronton, Chara, Ward, Hnidy, and even Ference can all deal. That's why BGL has to follow Lucic around trying to goad him into a scrap - he can't do anything else. He's gonna get awfully tired babysitting those little Habs forwards.

Hey mlesin you whiner, oh poor George didnt get to fight Lucic, boo hoo, he is a thug, couldnt carry Lucic jock. He fights if he has to but if the coach says no it is no. Get a life. Witt hung on for his life he is a waste also just like Big Bad George have you noticed he hasnt played much lately wonder why that is. LOSER.
