That is Mike Keenan style hockey. Too bad the other Flames player was in the area and that Sloan got into the boards and flopped.

this isn't even a damn fight..

im sick of seeing all these videos counted as fights that are just beat downs. he didnt even get a chance to fight or even get his gloves off hah u gotta be kidding me.. whoever decides which video is a fight or not...ur a tool

Honestly, how in the blue hell can you vote for Loan? Yes, it was a good hit, but this is Hockeyfights.com not Hockeyhits.com. Sloan paid the price for the hit, but but it wasn't much of a beatdown. Just enough to let Sloan know that they would stand for too many of those open-ice hits. Win Bourque.

WTF? So let me guess, if you make over 4mil per in the nhl they have a don't hit me clause? I dunno but suck it up sunshine cause big hits are way more exciting then the dribble that bourque caused after. Sloan gets the "W" for the hit.

Win Bourque? Domination Bourque?

Two guys jumped him, knocked him to the ice and Bourque started beating on his helmet before Sloan could get back up and defend himself.

I voted Draw, this was not a fight it was a jumping.

I don't really get what Sloan is supposed to do here. You can see him throw off his gloves when he sees Bourque coming at him, but he gets jumped by two guys, which knocks him off balance. Of course he's going to cover up when he's knocked down and Bourque is unloading on him. He looked like he expected to have to fight, but just didn't expect to have two guys on him.

Nice hit, though.

I noticed nobody rushed after Erskine for a similar hit

i do not like this fighting after good clean solid hits. i grew up on the nhl where guys fought after cheap shots. if the hit was clean, no matter how hard it is, then so be it. that is part of the game. you go and get you a good clean solid hit back at the guy.

funny how nobody goes at Erskine after his hit.

Clean hit, but big, Got to be ready to defend yourself after that. I don't care if the whole team comes after you, you've still got to defend yourself. Clear win Bourque. Nice to see him play tough.

obviously a huge hit, as mentioned sloan DID drop his gloves which constitutes a fight though no major was called on Sloan,

if you watch closely he does go for Bourque but never had his balance under him hence not much of a fight. I've seen worse "fights"

Guys, for anyone in doubt as to whether that hit deserved a 'reply', watch the video and note how Vandermeer - the Flames' enforcer (jersey #4) - just skates by Sloan, bumping his shoulder and not even challenging him. If the hit was anything cheap, Vandermeer knows his role and wouldn't hesitate to stand by his teammates.

Sure you can give Bourque the win here but how can a guy fight back when he gets the high-low before he has a chance to defend himself. Ive watched Sloan play 50 games or more the last few years and he has never turtled once. Lets get them 1 on 1 and see how things come out.

No fight here!! Great hit by Sloan!! Then he's jumped by two guys. That's not a fight!
