Great hit and two guys jumped him in response, Whether the retaliation was justified or not, he seemed to know it was coming, and reacted the way I would if two guys attacked me at the same time.
And as a sidebar...hey boxerlevean, or whatever, the way videos are chosen for the site (I'm assuming) is based on whether major penalties were assessed or not involving the incident.
Therefore it's NHL refs who acually decide what gets placed. You're the TOOL for thinking otherwise, and wanting someone else choosing what, and what isn't a fight for you. Puppy.

Watched the game; lots of heavy hits throughout. Seeing Bourque go after Sloan earned him some points with his teammates and the fans.

That is Mike Keenan style hockey. Too bad the other Flames player was in the area and that Sloan got into the boards and flopped.

If you see a leader or top scorer on your team get crushed like that, you go after the guy that did it. Old time hockey.

the open ice hits were better than those helemt shots by bourque

This was downright stupid. Throw a clean hit and have the other team jump you? Any fool who thinks that is "old school" is an idiot. If you go running around with your head down, you get hit. Ask Eric Lindros, Ron Francis, Paul Kariya and other guys who were leveled by Scott Stevens. There was no reason to attack Sloan. For you wussies who think certain guys can't or shouldn't be hit, let's have three skaters per team wear pink jerseys, and the rule will be they cannot be hit.

Win Bourque? Domination Bourque?

Two guys jumped him, knocked him to the ice and Bourque started beating on his helmet before Sloan could get back up and defend himself.

I voted Draw, this was not a fight it was a jumping.

WTF? So let me guess, if you make over 4mil per in the nhl they have a don't hit me clause? I dunno but suck it up sunshine cause big hits are way more exciting then the dribble that bourque caused after. Sloan gets the "W" for the hit.

Honestly, how in the blue hell can you vote for Loan? Yes, it was a good hit, but this is Hockeyfights.com not Hockeyhits.com. Sloan paid the price for the hit, but but it wasn't much of a beatdown. Just enough to let Sloan know that they would stand for too many of those open-ice hits. Win Bourque.

this isn't even a damn fight..

im sick of seeing all these videos counted as fights that are just beat downs. he didnt even get a chance to fight or even get his gloves off hah u gotta be kidding me.. whoever decides which video is a fight or not...ur a tool

I don't really get what Sloan is supposed to do here. You can see him throw off his gloves when he sees Bourque coming at him, but he gets jumped by two guys, which knocks him off balance. Of course he's going to cover up when he's knocked down and Bourque is unloading on him. He looked like he expected to have to fight, but just didn't expect to have two guys on him.

Nice hit, though.

I noticed nobody rushed after Erskine for a similar hit
