Obviously im a huge flyers fan and cote is the man. Have to give this one to godard. He landed more punches. But it was a great fight by both men. Good job to cote for stayin in there and going toe to toe with a bigger guy.

Think about it, this was the 1ST time this team has played and this was the first fight. Imagine how good its going to get later on in the season.
WOOOOOOO!!!!

Awesome fight!!! Cote just doesn't have the firepower to hang w/ H/Ws unless he really nails it on the button

The haymaker decides it in Godards favor. Godard, like any other tough guy, will have size and reach on Rockem Sockem Riley, but you never have it easy against Cote's furious southpaw swings. Other than that, all the fights this year have to measure up to this early one. Thank goodness Cote's a lefty and Godard's a righty. Bombs away. A classic bout. These 2 always seem to get the gentleman's agreement to go before dropping gloves against their opponents. Penguin and Flyer fans will remember Cote's agreements with BGL b4 their bouts last year. At least this year, the Pens have a worthy replacement of BGL in Godard. 5 more games for these 2. Let's grab the tickets.

good fight by both guys. i've watched goddard fight several times in person at the Saddledome and he can throw them with major force. i really enjoy cote's fights too. edge to goddard on this one.

Wow! Godard wins this one. Great fight. Between 19 and 21 seconds in Godard uses Cotes head like a speed bag, displaying great style and power. Both land some wicked blows and show good stamina but I think Cote was probably hurting more at the end of this one. HW Fight of the year!

I like how Godard is more proactive than BGL. Win Godard

Close fight!! Pound for Pound Riley Cote is the toughest fighter in the NHL! The Flyers see Shiztsburgh 7 more times. Riley will drop him by the end of the season that is a fact.
