Rivet was only protecting his team , he's the captain, so naturally he is going to stand guard, for all you haters out there, you would have done the same thing, protecting your own teammate, and it's hockey, so deal.

RThe new york announcers need to shut up... they are just upset that their team: A) can't win a game and B) can't win a fight. As for the fight, Rivet doesnt lose fights. Rivet could have beat the snot out of all of the islanders on the ice and thats what he was going to do. Mair just got in the way.

Hate to give Rivet the decision here, since Rivet cowardly jumped in after two evenly-matched fighter had paired off.... Props to Bergenheim for jumping in to even things up, even though the guy has probably never dropped the gloves in his career. Nonetheless, Rivet's actions may have been cowardly, but he still gets the easy decision against a guy who never fights.... congrats, Rivet.

I don't think Bergenheim wanted to be there as Rivet got a whole bunch of shots off. While many will cry about Rivet jumping in on Thompson he was actually just trying to take the fight off of Mair's hands as Mair is recovering from recent knee surgery. Either way, Rivet gave a beating.

This is a fight that is best watched with the sound off, this islanders guy is negatively influencing hockey-fights.com voters.. freaking out because Craig Rivet decided to act like the new captain and pick off a no-name guy trying to start nonsense. Mair shouldn't have to fight anybody.. that's why the Sabres have Peters.. they already have a player to go to if you're looking for that sort of thing. As for Bergenheim.. that wasn't gutsy that was just plain stupid, he's a skill player lol he should try fighting Afinogenov maybe next time. Maxim has actually gotten into fights before, too

Rivet is a bitch for jumping in here then going after a nonfighter. Only wish it was Rivet that got head slammed...that would have been pure comedy.

Finns like to get beaten up. Thatīs why we sit in the sauna and hit each other with birch twigs BUT we never back up or SURRENDER...thatīs for sure.

Rivet wins. Big deal, he beats someone smaller who doesn't fight. I'm impressed.

Can't give Bergenheim the actual win because he clearly he's a small non-fighter and clearly didn't even stand a chance against the bigger rivet who does drop the gloves from time to time.
However, I WON'T give it to Rivet for jumping Thompson, 3rd man in like a douche.

First of all, Rivet did NOT went after Bergenheim. So all of you idiots who whine and complain how Rivet went after a non-fighter. He did not, Bergenheim dropped the gloves and went after him. Wake the f*** up and watch carefully, you idiot!

Secondly, I don't blame Rivet for stepping in the fight because he was protecting Mair who is recovering the injury. So shut the f*** up and quit whining. If your team were in this position, you would want that. So seriously, quit whining like a little b***h.

All Rivet here. Valiant effort, Sean, but you were way out of your league.

LOST A TON OF RESPECT FOR RIVET IN THIS ONE AND GAINED A TON FOR BERGENHEIM,NO NEED FOR RIVET TO JUMP IN ON AN EVENLY MATCHED TILT AND PROPS FOR BERGIE FOR JUMPING IN KNOWING HE WAS GONNA TAKE A BEATING FROM A GOOD SCRAPER LIKE RIVET.
