Pyatt clearly had the advantage off the start and likely would have ended the fight early with a win of his own had he been able to connect with a couple of his punches. But the fact that he swung-and-missed allowed Vandermeer the time to get in a solid left hook, right cross, several body shots and two sneaky uppercuts for the clear points-win. By the end, it was fairly obvious that Pyatt was just hanging on and was happy to have the linesmen step in to finally end it.

geez...did vanermeer take a break during his philly time? Get traded and then decides to be a tough guy!! Would have been a fan favorite if he would have dropped the gloves down here. oh well.

Win for Jimmy. to bad Pyatt started it and looked dumb afterwards.

Pyatt is a tough kid but Vandy, when given the time, knows how to hurt people. Nice fight, especially to start the game, edge to Vandy.

Close in the beginning but Vandermeer pulled away. I really wish the Flyers didnt trade Vandermeer this year. Of course I also wish they didnt trade him the first time either.

Good scrap. Pyatt had a second or two to drop the lid, but didn't. Glad to see it came off. Kudos to Pyatt for taking two clean shots and continuing to go. Win Vandermeer.

Do'nt rag on Pyatt for the visor, Vandermeer wanted to go and he knew Pyatt had the shield and besides, Pyatt is not a fighter. Anyway, Vandermeer wins the fight but do'nt get too excited, it was over Pyatt.

Vandermeer clearly got the better of a game, but overmatched, Pyatt.

Got tired just watching these guys. Best fight in a while. Pyatt didn't have the energy to keep up. Vandy with the win.

More swings and misses than a National League pitcher at bat. Call it a draw cuz neither really connected.

Clear win for Vandemeer, although Pyatt did OK for a man who wears eye makeup.
Somebody asked what happened to Mark Smith; he was injured when run by Boogaard in the last Calgary-Minnesota game, which led to Sarich demolishing Boogaard with an open-ice body check, which led to the fight with Fedoruk.

Vandy wins. As big as Pyatt is, he should have done better. You could see that he knew he made a mistake taking on Vandy who has a lot more experience.

Pyatt makes a good punching bag

solid fight, Vandy gets the win. I like what Keenan is doing with Vandermeer sticking him on the wing, he gives the flames another big guy who can fight. What happend to Mark Smith? havent seen him in a while.
