Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Mar 12, 2008 Calgary Flames Eric Godard
1pd 16:17 Washington Capitals John Erskine
Comments: Mike Green hits Dustin Boyd hard into the boards and Godard returns the favor by sending Green into the wall. Brooks Laich grabs Godard but quickly lets go once Erskine skates over. Godard and Erskine drop the gloves and tie each other up. They exchange a couple of early fights. Erskine throws two rights to the back of Godard's helmet before landing a pair of jersey-jabs. Erskine throws a short right followed by another that misses the target. They simultaneously throw rights and Godard connects with a shot that stuns Erskine. Godard then lands three unanswered rights before Erskine falls to the ice. Godard follows him down and the linesmen are there to break things up.

big right hand from Eriic....Big John is no slouch, and Godard handled him.....not sure why Eric doesn't have this kind of success against some of the other guys out west...

Win to Godard, but who cares about Ovechkin? Why do they split the screen to show him skating to and then sitting on the bench? Is he really that interesting? Come on people, keep the cameras on the game!!

Also, why does the NHL prefer to waste time by not blowing the whistle when the puck is tied up along the boards? Not more than ten years ago, as soon as two players came together on the boards with the puck in their skates, the refs would blow the play dead. This would keep a lot of dirty plays down and keep more players healthy.

Godard won this with the big right bomb. Erskine was oozy from that shot, never recovered & eventually just went down to end it.

P.S.- What's with this "Ovech-cam?" GOD! Just when u thought they couldn't possibly think of any more retarded ideas... OOOH, I can watch Ovechkin's every move on 1/2 the screen and in case I'm interested, I can see the actual game on a 1/4 of the screen... I got an idea, turn OFF the Ovech-cam during the game because we couldn't care less what it feels like to score goals in the NHL. Then turn it ON when he's in bed with his girlfriend so we know what it's like to sleep with some Russian Supermodel. NOW THAT'S REALITY TV AT IT'S FINEST!

P.P.S.-The Flyers & Bruins better win some games, because I can easily see the NHL putting the Caps on a 12 game winning streak to end the season. YES, THEY ARE OVECHKIN'S JOCK THAT BAD...
