Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Mar 12, 2008 Calgary Flames Eric Godard
1pd 16:17 Washington Capitals John Erskine
Comments: Mike Green hits Dustin Boyd hard into the boards and Godard returns the favor by sending Green into the wall. Brooks Laich grabs Godard but quickly lets go once Erskine skates over. Godard and Erskine drop the gloves and tie each other up. They exchange a couple of early fights. Erskine throws two rights to the back of Godard's helmet before landing a pair of jersey-jabs. Erskine throws a short right followed by another that misses the target. They simultaneously throw rights and Godard connects with a shot that stuns Erskine. Godard then lands three unanswered rights before Erskine falls to the ice. Godard follows him down and the linesmen are there to break things up.

I love the trash-talking by Godard. "Drop your gloves" and then some randoms "****s" and "**** you". Man what an idiot, so intelligent and articulate as well. Win Godard

It almost looked to me like Erskine didn't know where the heck he was after that one bomb. Clear win by Godard.

I gave the KO win to Godard. That first right rang Erskine's bell, and the second right answered after he was stunned initially. I'm surprised Erskine stayed up for as long as he did, the lights on but there was definitely no one home. You could even see he was kind of stunned on his feet as he skated back to the Cap's bench.

As said by many, the fight was quite close untill Godard unloaded hell and took over the fight with that heavy right. Decision Godard.

The fight seemed pretty even to me until the end. Godard and Erskine then both connect at the same time. This shot seems to stun Erskine and he holds on. Godard then throws a few more rights and Erskine goes down. That one shot where both of them land at the same time seemed to hurt Erskine. Clear win for Godard. This could go down as a TKO.

TKO Godard. That right hand by Godard to the kisser would have knocked most heavyweights out! Kudos to Erskine for attempting to stay up.
