Comments: After Vernon Fiddler hits Kevin Bieksa with the puck, Bieksa fires it back at him. Players gather near the benches and Bieksa goes in looking for a fight. He throws a couple of punches at Fiddler before Greg de Vries rips him out of the pile and the two square off at center ice. Bieksa lands a quick left as they grab ahold of each other. de Vries ducks under a right and then lands a right of his own that knocks Bieksa down. de Vries gets in another right as he follows Bieksa down but Bieksa rolls back to his knees and gets in a right on a downed de Vries. They get back to their feet but two of the officials are right there to break things up. Other Penalties: Bieksa received a game misconduct; de Vries a double game misconduct; Scott Nichol a roughing; Dan Hamhuis and Ryan Shannon each received a game misconduct.

De Vries shows how much of a huge PUSS he is, by refusing to take his helmet off. Props to Bieksa for taking off his helmet. DeVries got popped a few good times. Bieksa gets the win here.

Win Bieksa. Too bad the zebras cut in and saved De Vries from a pummeling.

Why should a guy take his helmet off when he's not wearing a visor??? Some of you are banging on de Vries for not taking his helmet off and I can't understand that.
As for Tootoo's hit on Miller, Miller turned his back when he saw Tootoo coming. It wasn't a dirty hit. Sure it looked that way because Miller turned his back to Tootoo and went head first into the boards. That was dumb on Miller's part.
Rick Rypien was the one that got all of this started with his hit on Koistenen. Hordichuk challenged him and he skated to the bench, which I can understand with the lead that Vancouver had. That hit is what sent Tootoo on a misson to hit somebody. When you're up by four or five goals, don't spark the other team by laying a big hit. Sure it was clean, but it didn't go over to well and Miller had to pay the price

DeVries was a college classmate of mine at BGSU in Ohio. He was never afraid of the rough stuff there and shows he still isn't here. The old man had no problem going in and calling Bieksa out. Then he lands a solid shot to the jaw and puts him down. Shows class by not punching him while he's down either. Winner deVries.

Both fighters got in one good punch. Bieksa got his in first, de Vries second, hence, it's a tie.
