Jarkko Ruutu vs Milan Lucic

Why was Lucic and the Boston fans so happy that he won a marginally close bout with Ruuttu. Oh i get it... Lucic is the new poster boy for the Big Bad bruins, and the fans have an unrealistic hope that this guy is the new complete player... just like Orr and Neeley; come on guys... you look at the slow-motion replay and see Lucic land 1 or 2 nice shots on Ruuttu and then think the whole fight went that way... To me, I saw a long holding match, with those same 2 punches being the only decent ones.
I'm neither a Lucic or Ruuttu fan, but I'm not going to just jump on a bandwagon of synthetic hype if I don't see the results for myself.

Wh didn't Lucic go with BGL earlier in the game?

You guys need to stop hating on Looch. I swear to God, when his nose heals I hope to hell Ruutu drops them again and Looch can go ape **** on him. He's been fighting different, protecting his nose and not letting them fly...When he does, i hope Ruutu has the sack to try that again, but he won't. And BGL's time will come. Prolly be a 5 sec tilt where BGL puills him to the ice.

Ruutu was looking for a partner for a good amount of time before Lucic obliged. For a guy who was looking to take on everybody I thought Ruutu got worked pretty good.

This announcer should be a boxing announcer. He is more excited about a fight then a goal. Lucic owned.

Lucic got this one. The body blows didn't seem to matter but the fists that connected were very effective. I would have loved to have seen Ruutu in a blow for blow bout with Lucic without all the grabbing and swing around. It looked to me as if Lucic didn't want to fight that night. He backed down from BGL and tried to avoid even Ruutu. It may or may not have been coaches orders but this is not Lewis, its Julien behind the bench. The broken nose excuse never washed with me. I've seen the best fight and win hurt or injured. I hope Lucic remembers who wore his No 17 at one time. I'll give him some slack once since he's only 19. Plus even if he didn't want to fight he still won.

Ruutu is not only dirty but he's an idiot! What was he thinking picking a fight with Lucic? The only reason he is still breathing is that Lucic was trying to protect his oft broken nose. Easy win for Lucic. Any jackass who votes for a draw or Ruutu win is either A( a homo for Ruutu) or B(a homo for Ruutu), probably both.

best fight ive seen all year..lucic clear winner here....lands numerous big shots through out fight..ruutu landed a couple late, but damage was already done..

First, I agree about Jack Edwards. Bring back Dale Arnold, and has anybody told Edwards about teeth whitening. The fight was dominated by Lucic, Ruutu went looking and didn't like what he found. bufordjustice has no clue what he is talking about. Lucic did not initiate but did dominate.

Lucic picked Ruutu apart in this one. I dont understand how anyone is giving Lucic a hard time for fighting Ruutu, because Ruutu started the whole thing. entertaining fight. great job by Milan.
