ok ill be the first to admit, ruutu isnt the best fighter, god knows he's not gonna back down from a guy like steve downie. but ill aslo be the first to say, the winner of this bout was deff. Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuutu!
free advice for downie- dont start a fight and try to back away vag. you then proceeded to have ruu take off your helmet for you, cause of the visor,,if i were him id of smashed that visor in your face and send you to the lockers, and anyone who DOESNT consider downie a complete and utter puss is either a lowsey flyers fan and didnt watch the same fight we all did.

I'm a Flyers hater, BUT, I've got to say, Both of them were tired. Downie knew it was over and so did Ruutu. Everyone is calling Downie a pu$$y for skating away. Ruutu sure as heck didn't put any effort into hanging on to him. They both knew they were done. An "OK" throw by both. DRAW.

Steve "skirt" Downie. Ruutu rock Downie`s World. Ruutu is amused player.

Like they say...anytime Downie gets a fist to the face - an angel gets his wings.

And to the guy here who says that anyone who thinks Downie is a p***sy should reconsider it, I say, yes - I have reconsidered it and I now change my doubtful "thinks he is" to a definitive "100% knows he is" - thanks for the suggestion pal.

Win for Downie. Ruutu bores me to death.

What a bitch goof Downie is. Skates away during fight= turtles. Another ***** like Tucker who can't take a clean hit!!! What a sad Philly *****.

One of the toughest calls of the year, Downie got in the best punches, realizes he probably won it then breaks the coveted hockeyfight code of skating away BEFORE the refs break it up and AFTER he waived them off so he could score those nasty rights at the end. The punchstat awards it to Downie, but I know what we are all thinking (including some flyer fans who know the code as well as anybody) Downie wants to be hated more than Avery. I guess he figures it's some kind of accomplishment and he's making it look easy.

I'm sure Ruutu and every Penguin fan (nobody else likes this hug 'em til they tire fighter either) that gave him a win here on principal and not punchstats will want a rematch here.

Remember this, all fight fans, that there are well over 200 votes and counting on this one. Downie, for all his shenanigans, is making it interesting and is choosing his combatants carefully, and then severly pyssing them off. He knows what he's doing.

Both fighters got in decent shots,I dont know whats up with Downie skating away,Rutuu is the much bigger man. So the smaller Downie, like him or not, held his own..DRAW!!

I love how all the Flyers fans say Downie leaving was "funny." For us people with half a brain, that translates into "Someone on my favorite team is a ***** and left a fight so I'm gonna try and play it off as being funny." Please, if anyone else ran away from a fight you'd be all over them, and that's exactly what this was. RustyTrombone said it best, throwing in the towel is a loss. I'd say the fight was a draw, but Downie running away means Ruutu wins!

I will give this close bout to Jarkko couse Downie called it quites. I have to admit I am not a fan of either of these guys, but they both can throw when they have to. Its just to bad that one of the NhL's heavyweights dont get a hold of each of them.

Downie is such a *****. He thinks he wins the fight because he gets a couple of shots in then skates away. Who just skates away in the middles of a fight? A *****, that's who. Hey BillH, I re-considered calling Downie a *****, and I've decided he's still a ***** and always will be. Downie I hope you read this. Can't wait for March 11th and 12th ya little punk. Your gonna get your ass kicked.

Downie is one tough kid...he landed all the punches in this fight...Tofu...errr...Ruutu just gave him shots to the back of the neck/head. Easy to call this one despite the lack of consistent action....Downie.

Ruutu had to take Downie's helmet and face shield off before the scrap. Downie is like the rest of the cheap shot Flyers who really stink up the place.
Let's go DEVILS ....
