Kind of a disjointed fight. I'm giving it a draw. Hartnell, get your jheri curl ass away from the guys that are taking the gloves off.

This was a close fight, however, Downie skated away before it was finished! You can't give a guy the win if he leaves before the dance is over.

I've seen a lot of Ruutu's fights and he is a great finisher, ask Darcy Tucker. I think Downie realized he was out of gas and going to get tagged if it went any longer.

The Penguin's seem to be winning all of the fights against the Flyers this year........who would of thunk it!

ruutu got in some rabbit punches like the announcers said but the punches he hit downie with were nowhere near the punches downie hit with i think they got about the same amount of punches in with downies being alot harder

If you watched the game you can see that Downie initiated that fight...then skates away during it and you guys say it was because he was tired? Please if he was that tired he wouldn't have started the fight.

Downie is a lowlife player and always has been....he didnt knock Ruutu out like he thought he would so he skated away rather then take his lumps like a man.

Hilarious fight. They both landed their punches and Downie decides to leave when he gets tired.

Ruutu landed some in the middle, but Downie came back towards the end and got a couple real good ones in. It could have really gone either way or been a draw, but I'll give the slight edge to Downie because he got a couple good ones in at the end and then skated away which was really, really funny.

So Penguin fans are bigger homers than Flyer fans?

Downie ( 5' 10" 189lbs) squares off against Ruutu (6' 2" 195lbs). The size difference is noticeable as they tie up. Ruutu starts by wisely ripping Downie's face shield off. Downie throws the opening punches with a flurry combination consisting of right hooks and uppercut that landed flush on the chin of Ruutu.

Ruutu, feeling his strategy of wearing his opponent down, has succeeds in answers Downies flurry of punches with his own. Landing a straight right, & throwing some right and left hooks.

Downie wisely closes the distant between the two exhausted warriors. Staying active so the officials don't think the fight is over, Downie throws a few shoulder shrugs into Ruutu's face. Rutuu then answers Downie's shrugs with a haymaker that seems to miss but leaves Downie in an awkward position. Ruutu capitalizes and throws a few "rabbit punches" to the back of Downie's head.

Both men now stand, arms outstretched, hands clinched to the opposing fighters jersey, desperately trying to get an little advantage by throwing short jab's at each other.

Ruutu tries for the hail marry with an overhand right, missing, leaving his body, and more importantly face wide open for Downie to take advantage of, and he does just that, landing 3 vicious right hooks.

At this point both men have be in a long fight. Downie realizing he had the upper hand at that point op's to skate away. In my opinion, this was hilarious, others, however, think him skating away was forfeiting the bout. I disagree. Downie, being exhausted, and getting the last punches of the fight in, leaves on a good note. It does however leave me with an unfinished feeling. Downie was winning the war but did not give Ruutu the chance to answers Downies last flurry.

Therefore I would call this fight a Draw.

now that was a fight. Ruutu style is to let the Dumbass run out of gas. like a boxing match. Then you make him regret he ever droped the mitts. And as for downie He started the fight and could not FINISH it. thats normal for a P.O.S pest.

3 punches at end give it to Downie.

Wow.

50% of the vote to Ruutu for landing one punch.

Downie landed two big shots to Ruutu's one.

And he skated away because the fight was over.

I bet most of you don't even have favorite teams, just a least favorite.

Downie got in the better shots and controlled the fight. He was tired and called it off at the end, but Ruutu didn't seem too interested in keeping it going. Ruutu thru some good punches, but didn't take control enough for me to call it for him. He just sat back and waited and didn't do much.

Ruutu or tutu had to stay close in on Downie or he would have had his clock cleaned. If your gonna run someone, especially Downie or Cote expect consequences, box Downie don't clutch and grab, but if you try to "fight" Downie you'll find yourself facedown out cold from a solid right ( or left ). Penguins are playing "typical euro" hockey.

this was way too close to call both sides got in a few punches here, and there. downie on the end of a long shift obiviously too tired to continue.
