Anyone who calls Downie a puss for "running away" obviously didn't see him wave the linesman off so he could feed Ruutu a few more rights...the fight was over at that point anyway, what difference does it make if he lets go and skates away on his on or they just wait for the linesman to come in? Ruutu wasn't stopping him, anyway. Everybody's just looooves to hate the Flyers

I'm sorry, Downie is just a scum, low life of this earth and doesn't belong in this league.

they were both exhausted and it looked like ruutu was holdin on to downie at the start and not tryin to throw, just tiring downie out even more, personally, i laughed when he skated away at the end, he waved off the refs so he could get in one last flurry and then he just turned his back, i'd like to see these 2 go again at the start of a shift

Anyone who runs from a fight no matter what happens or how long it lasts gets a loss in my book. What a chicken.

The two were both tired
But I got to think Downie Threw more Punches
and definately did more Than Jarkko
Next time they meet Ruutu won't be so lucky.
I am getting tired of Jarkko, He was always a pain
But he thinks he is tough because he has Laraque on his side

downie better turn in his testicles for improper use AND misconduct.

ruutu always lets his opponents tire out . he controlled the entire fight from beginning to end. thats just his style. he lets your arms get tired and then unloads.

ruutu for the win by a much wider margin then is evident from only watching this fight. oh and a tko as well for downie forgetting to let go of his purse when he dropped the gloves.

how can anyone call Downie a *****? he is at the end of a shift, fights for over a minute, clearly wins the fight and because he skates away as the linesmen are about to come in he is a *****? how can you justify that especially considering he is fighting Jarko Ruutu who skates off the ice after he challenges someone to drop the gloves which they do? i am not a fan of Steve Downie but at least vote on the fights based on performance in the fight insted of your opinion on something that happened in the preseason

Downie was in over his head.. I guess when the guy's looking at you it's harder to cheap shot him. JR wins it 10-8.

Downie was at the end of a shift. Ruttu came into the hit with the elbow up, not penalty worthy, but up. Pretty lame fight. Downie was obviously tired, not sure about Ruttu but he seemed tired as well. Loved how Downie just skated away when he was done.

DRAW.

Downie controlled the beginning of the fight, Ruutu got a couple of shots in the middle of the fight, and then Downie landed a couple at the end. Edge to Downie. Laughed my ass off watching Downie just skate away before he fell over from exhaustion.

How can a fight be over when Jarko is still throwing punches.Downie thru three punches and was getting ready to get beat on some more,so he quit.Pretty much the mo of all Filthadelphia players,if i can't hit you from behind i don't want none.
