Ruutu, you're a punk. Stand up if you're going to cheap shot a guy like that.

It was not even a fight. I'd say McCarthy assaulted Ruutu who was not willing to fight.

Non-fight.

How can anyone say this wasn't a draw? It wasn't even a fight. It shouldn't have been a kneeing or fighting major on ruutu. Good job punching ruutu in the back of the head mcarthy.

What a joke. Not at all a dirty hit or even a penalty. Ruutu also got 5 minutes for fighting without throwing a punch or dropping his gloves.

Please. This wasn't even a fight. McCarthy dropped the gloves and rushed Ruutu for nearly finishing a hit on Kovalchuk. They didn't square each other off, Ruutu didn't even drop the gloves. This is just a good example of the refs homing the Pens

Clean hit by Ruutu, Kobi just dodged it kinda wrong... McCarthy just did what he had to. Crap fight...

Ruutu didn't have a chance after hurting Kovy ... i think they pulled him for his own safety.

this was retarded shouldnt even be called a fight. no reason for ruutu to even get a fighting major when he didnt even drop the gloves.

Ruutu is a dirty player and got the crap beaten out of him. Linesmen should have let him get pummeled a little bit longer

Shocking calls from the refs. yea, it was knee on knee but only because kovy side stepped. For ruutu to get the game misconduct well i struggle to see why :/ McCarthy did the right thing sticking up for his team mate granted...but i feel the calls should've been a bit better from the referee's. I Think Ruutu's reputation helped alot in those calls.

all in all not much of a fight at all. i get the feeling though, on a level playing field ruutu might have faired a bit better.

i gave mccarthy the win and a 10 rating cause he did exactly what he should have done, and did not think twice. when some scumbag like ruutu runs at your best player you definitely have to act i just wish the refs took a few more secs to get involved so he could have taken more of a beating.

Wasn't even a fight. Ruutu obviously didn't want to fight, and McNoobie just went nuts because team went down. If you look the slow-mo at the end of the clip you can clearly see that kneeing was NOT intended. Ruutu even tried to reach with his shoulder to knock Kovalchuck down, but was too late. Lesson? Never ever try dodging incoming hit - the consequences might be more devastating than you can think.

I have a soft spot for Jarkko mainly because he is a pretty decent scapper when it comes down to it but man, like xTina says, that was "Drrrty"!
