Jan 24, 2008 Pittsburgh Penguins Georges Laraque
1pd 02:19 Philadelphia Flyers Riley Cote
Comments: Right off of the faceoff they drop the gloves and square off at center ice. They grab ahold of each other and Laraque throws a quick left. Cote falls to the ice but Laraque allows him to get back up. They spin around and Laraque starts to connect with numerous lefts, knocking Cote's helmet off and rocking him. Cote throws a left of his own but it comes up short. Laraque continues to land with lefts until Cote throws another left, knocking both off-balance and to the ice.

Laraque by a mile, but kudos to Cote for hanging in there.

Laraque landed a bunch of big lefts. As soon as Cote got his hand free Laraque took a dive. Clear win for Laraque, but not domination because of the ending.

Maybe Riley himself was one of the voters here to cover that 3%. This was hyped all year as Riley's the up an comer and Laraque is the king of the heap. Laraque even lets Cote back up (only so he can pummel him some more). Give Cote credit for the guts, like he's had all year, but he clearly needs to hit more weights and eat more protein as he gives away 2 inches and 30 pounds. Laraque is on the top of his "game". They both admitted in after game interviews it's business. For the fans (especially penguin fans) it's a pleasure. Make sure you listen for the bell that dings at the beginning of the bout. Gotta love hockey culture in South Philly.

BGL actually let Cote up instead of punching otherwise it'd be a short bout so ppl gotta stop saying he like to wrestle. he let Brashear up so they can continue punching also. Give Cote credit but he is not in top 5. his win over McGrattan was overated and deceiving as McGrattan had a bad shouder from his last lost to BGL. BGL continues to impress but seem less guys challenge him every year now.

Cote got dominated, but giving up 3" and 40 lbs, its pretty much what I expected.Good win for Laraque. no grabbin,or huggin in this one.it was all left hands. You cant win'em all ,at this gameCote, but keep pluggin. the flyer faithful are behind you 100%!!!!!

Laraque PUMPS Cote!!! WOhoooo. Lets see how many Homer fans say Cote won. Total Domination. Good job Georgey for putting Cote in his place.

Cote isn't a true heavyweight, but he's a tough cookie. Big GL was just too overpowering in this fight (as he is for most of his opponents). He gets people off-balance with shear force. Also, his punches must be VERY heavy as even the ones that don't connect seem to cause damage from a balance perspective. GL gets the victory, but hats off to Cote for challenging any/all.
