Jan 24, 2008 Pittsburgh Penguins Georges Laraque
1pd 02:19 Philadelphia Flyers Riley Cote
Comments: Right off of the faceoff they drop the gloves and square off at center ice. They grab ahold of each other and Laraque throws a quick left. Cote falls to the ice but Laraque allows him to get back up. They spin around and Laraque starts to connect with numerous lefts, knocking Cote's helmet off and rocking him. Cote throws a left of his own but it comes up short. Laraque continues to land with lefts until Cote throws another left, knocking both off-balance and to the ice.

Cote's two fight winning streak ends and badly to Laraque. Cote has a big heart but he is two small for these bigger guys, McGratton not withstanding.

What a beatdown. It was very sporting of Laraque to pick him up off the ice early in the bout so he could resume kicking his a**. I think I heard Cote ask for a right after he ate about 25 lefts.

Cote was winning fights up until this one....ouch! BGL is the champ though....no shame getting beat by the best

This why BGL is tough to beat. He is so strong on his skates in a bout. He is just tough to beat.

This was an obvious mismatch, so you have to give Cote credit for not getting beaten worse - even though he did a standing turtle for most of the fight. For Laraque fans, it's disappointing to see him lose his balance at the end of a fight again. It's becoming a little too regular.
