Dec 20, 2007 Pittsburgh Penguins Georges Laraque
1pd 14:36 Boston Bruins Zdeno Chara
Comments: They come out of the penalty box and immediately drop the gloves in an attempt to fight for the second time in the game. They square off at center ice until Chara grabs ahold of Laraque with his left arm. Laraque throws a left hook and Chara responds with a right. Laraque then wrestles Chara to the ice and the linesmen are right there to end the fight.

Chara wanted no part o f this. He had two opporunities to go against Laraque and found a way out of each. Like I've always said, Chara needs to stick on the middlewights and below. Those are the only guys he can pick on...

Crap fight but for those of you saying the Laraque tackled, take a look at the video again. Chara pulled Laraque down with him when he was falling to his back. In their first "fight" that night Chara actually tackled Laraque. Laraque does tackle people in most of his "fights" but this time the tackling was all done by Chara.

The most obvious draw i've ever seen. You have to be blind to give the win to either guy in this one.

Georges missed with left but as he drew his arm back to throw another his elbow caught Chara and Chara went down. Chara looked really apprehensive, even a 6'9" giant has fear of BGL. I would like to say BGL won but I don't think that would be fair, so I'll give it a draw.
I knew all Laraque haters would show up and say Laraque wrestled Chara down, pull your heads out of your jealous @$$es and watch the video again. Chara got scared.

Laraque isn't the most overated fighter for nothing you know, here is a prime example. Most of his fights look exactly like this Lame!

Draw. Hilarious comments already, and probably many more to come. God forbid anyone criticize Laraque, but if he doesn't land early it's a wrestling take down. Did Bob Probert or Joey Kocur try to wrestle guys down? Do yourself a favor and revisit Kocur's fights on YouTube. The guy was an animal with probably the greatest right hand of all time. He put guys into next week. Back to this fight, Chara throws the two big bombs, and Laraque throws one left. Nothing connects. Both go down and I'm not sure if Laraque didn't mind pushing Chara down as he's losing his balance (the guy is 6'9" for god's sake). I don't know how people can dispute BGL's fights don't end with takedowns way too early, go back and watch em all. He doesn't LOSE any, that I will totally give to him. I mean ANY! And that's a huge achievement for Georges, with the many fights his been in. He's also strong as an ox, I'd just love to see more throwing. I know I've upset the Laraque lovers out there, and I'm no hater, I'm just trying to be fair. I'm also entitled to my opinion.

i couldnt wait to see all the idiotic postings about this one....Chara did what a captain should do and took on the toughest guy in the league twice to get his team going...not very exciting fight but good intent...
Also whoever said that Chara is dirty well thats waht make him so effective other wise hed be Hal Gill with a good slapshot!

What a shame - great matchup but not much of a fight here...

Boo I say. This could have been something really great but it ended up being a quick wresting match.

Chara tried KO's/TKO's Laraque.
Then goes for the takedown immediately.
A draw.

Both go for the KO and both lose their balance...

Chara pulled Laraque down so fast (twice) it reminded me of Evil Knevil poping the shoot on the Snake River jump while still on the ramp.
