Ott just got destroyed.

Someone said Joe is big enough to stick up for himself and could have handled Ott. But if your the sharks, do you really want your best player sitting out for 5 minutes because of a fight started by someone who takes cheap shots at a teams star players? No.

What Rivet did was completely called for and Ott had it coming. Its up to the rest of the team to stand up and take someone like Ott down because you don't want a star like Thornton to take the penalty for it.

Great job Rivet.

Ott should have saw it coming and been ready to go. Glad refs let Rivet give it to him.

Evidence that pests like Ott, Avery, Cooke would be destroyed w/o the instigator rule. Good for Rivet.

C'mon Rivet cheap shoted him at least let him drop the gloves we all know he was going to win so at least give Ott a chance to drop the gloves

Do any of the so called previous "reviewers" know anything about hockey here? It's apparent no one watched the game either. Ott didn't lose the fight because he did NOT FIGHT!!

Look at the scoreboard. Stars were down 1-0, Ott knew that a delayed penalty was coming against the Sharks, and he didn't want to jeopordize the upcoming powerplay by picking up any offsetting penalties. Once Rivet, started throwing punches Ott knew that Rivet was going to get handed a boatload of penalties. Ott probably assumed (incorrectly though) that the linesmen would jump in and stop the one-sided "fight." In any case, if Ott had truly wanted to fight...he would have...and most likely would have held his own. Stars ended up getting a 4min power play out of it.

I'm all for Rivet sticking up for his team, but for all of you who think Ott got whipped, think again...and learn about hockey strategy while you're at it.

Ott wasn't ready and still had gloves on so a tad of cheapshot from Rivet but Ott did run around so he shoud of atleast expected someone coming after him
