The only thing "Eager" about Ben's game is his Eagerness to irritate the biggest, baddest guys in the league and run the other way when put to task. He is LUCKY that the stipeboys pulled Laraque off of him after his nice little cheapshot to Laraque. Don't wake the beast if you can't slay him son. I think another 20 seconds with Laraque on him and he would have left on a stretcher. I guess he figured the old man was an easy target, but Eager forgot two very important things when sizing up Gary Roberts.
1. This isn't Roberts' first rodeo, nor will it be his last. Although he might be 41, he still gets a lot of practice on beating turds with ten times the "skill" of Eager.
2. Eager can't even beat the dirt out of his rug, let alone beat up a hockey player. Apparently the beating he took from Laraque was severe enough that his brain was sending him false promises of fighting abilities.
Way to go Mr. Eager, keep this up and you will hold a new Philadelphia Flyers record for most career concussions, unless you get an air bag inserted into your skull.

Gary Roberts putting the hurting on Ben Eager. Showing that he is still a leader and a tough man at 41. He is missed right now even if the Penguins are on a hot streak. You can't coach this kind of passion and heart. I hope he plays until he's 50 if he can keep this up.

HAHAHA YES!!! THATS CLASSIC SCARY GARY 4 YA. Man EAGER IS A TOTAL *****...and an idiot...i mean wat was he thinking??? "OH NO i gotta hide from Goerges Laraque, o mayby the 41 year old Penguin will hide me!!!" well benny boy he did he hid your face behind fist...bow im a DIE HARD penns fan ive loved this team even throught the Hellishly bad years...therefore i hate the Flyers but i mean come on!!! Seriously how do they have the reputation as a "tough" team wen there "Tough Guy" got the LIVING CRAP beat outta him by a 41 year old...not to take anything away from Roberts i mean he may be 41 but he plays like a 20 year old with anger managment issues....I LOVE IT!!!

What Eager must have been thinking:
"Im not taking on Big George because he will beat me down. Oh, the old man wants to go. Sure, why not?"
More evidence that a wanna be tough-guy should never think.

Roberts is the clear winner.

Gary Roberts stands up for his team and takes out head Philly punk Ben Eager, I love it. Roberts is an old school fighter, and he dominated Eager in this one. Good for him.

Gunslinger is right, us Flyers fans need a heavy again. Ever since Cote came up Eager has done nothing. Cote is great but he isn't a heavy. Neither is Eager for that matter. Cote is more than willing to fight the heavies but Eager is smarter and knows his limitations. Cote is tougher...Why did we get rid of Brashear???

good fight, clear victory by roberts. but everybody is crying about the flyers fighting with their helmets on when roberts goes and jumps in with eager, and doesnt even take his helmet off. with carter and hartnell, they were scrumming with penguin players and they knocked off the helmets of the penguins, roberts helmet was definatley an unfair advantage. roberts wins the fight, but it is not an elbow, lowered his shoulder hit up and the elbow is the follow through that didnt hit laraque. roberts won, but he has to know that once a player is down, stop throwing punches, he kept hitting him in the back of the head(bertuzzi-esque?) when eager was on the ground. lastly, im not sure if u understand that it isnt eager's decision whether he goes back out on the ice or not. its the coaches. after the fight he had a 5 min major, and then john stevens didnt put him back out because stevens understood that eager would have done something stupid like boulerice did in vancouver, the last time the flyers killed an opponent. when talking about cowards, lets not forget sidney crosby, he was afraid to fight a goalie, A GOALIE!!!! biron is a good goalie, but not a strong fighter, he got beat down by emery. if crosby's so great, why doesnt he have the stones to fight biron. crosby better watch out because mike richards, who i think is the best technique fighter on the flyers, just isnt big enough, will destroy him.

if you remember when the pens last played in philly, eager was the guy who refused to fight laraque and as he skated off the ice, all the pens players were laughing at him...so now he throws a chicken shiat hit on laraque and a 41 year old whipps his arse....what a punk. laraque was begging him to fight him in that last game and he put his head down and skated away......punk.
