The "homer" announcer may not be a fight judge but he is Danny Gare who has been in 100 or so NHL fights himself, so I'd think his opinion may carry a little weight.

This is a straight up draw. Not a great fight, a lot of misses, gave it a 7.

Boll was better than Downey because he isn't (yet) a heavy.
Downey is a heavy to me.
Boll early, Downey late.
Boll landed maybe one or two more.
But not enough for the win.
A draw.

Downey by decision. You gotta count all the body punches & not just the head shots. Don't listen to the announcers. They never judged a prizefight.

So Downey blows my last post out of the water here...decent fight but a draw. Downey stays on his feet due to the close quarter fighting. Boll looked pretty good here, got to agree with another poster though, Detroit needs to find someone else who can handle this role.

The length of the fight is what made this one so great! Not to mention Downey waving off the ref's thinking he's going to show the rookie how the big boys do it, only to find out the kid could handle his own. Can't wait till the kid gets bigger physically....Gave Boll slight edge since he's the rookie and Downey couldn't finish him off like he thought he was going to...
