You used to see this a lot back in the day where someone would flip the puck at a player or the goalie when he shouldn't have and someone would be right in your face. Pronger drops Handzus pretty easily with a few uppercuts. Naturally, the stupid refs and linesmen are in the way again!
After reading some reviews, some of you people are so incredibly ignorant about hockey. Pronger should be suspended? Pronger should fight someone tough? Huh? WTF?
1st off, Handzus shot the puck after the horn sounded and that is simply a no no and as of the last several years, he might have gotten away with it but luckily Pronger was there to let him know you can't screw around like that and Handzus paid for it! Done, end of story. Handzus got what he deserved, nothing more or less and the worst thing that could have happened is Pronger NOT doing anything and letting him get away with it.
Secondly, Pronger is NOT a fighter. I compare him to someone like Mike Bossy who was a pretty good size player and stronger and tougher than 90% of the goons he played against. Chris Nilan, Tiger Williams, Dave Schultz, Behn Wilson, Gord Kluzak, Dave Semenko and a hundred other guys took runs and cheap shots at Bossy and he never fought them. Why? Because he beat them by scoring goals and breaking your knuckles on some goons head is not the answer. I love fighting in hockey and that it's allowed but the goal scorers should score goals and the fighters should fight and once in a while Lecavelier or Iginla drops them and usually hammers the offending player and that's nice to see but Pronger rarely does that and certainly isn't going to fight an "enforcer". Why would he? Take himself off the ice for 5 minutes or more in trade for some used puck bag like Boogaard who contributes almost nothing but fighting? What are you? Stupid?
Pronger isn't stupid and he's a hell of a good player who is a huge asset to his team, the Ducks wouldn't have won the cup without him. He picked the right time and place to do what he did and if the NHL suspends him for it, I'll focking boycott the league and that idiot Bettman.
