Oct 25, 2007 Chicago Blackhawks David Koci
1pd 11:42 Boston Bruins Zdeno Chara
Comments: The two come together on the side of the Blackhawks net and the rest of the players on the ice pile in after them. They drop the gloves, grab ahold of each other, and skate away from the scrum. Chara throws three rights to start things off. Koci responds with one of his own. They each throw simultaneous rights and Chara gets knocked down. He gets back up and throws seven unanswered rights that include a mix of uppercuts and straight shots. The linesmen move in and break things up. Koci is bleeding all over the ice and has blood all over his face from a cut on the bridge of his nose.

Total mismatch. Chara don't fight much, but when he does he will hurt you.

Good fight, That one bomb Koci got in seemed to be the best of the fight, and took Chara to his knees. Kudos to both for a good fight.

if you take the time to go on youtubeand view the fight there, it shows a reverse camera angle of the fight when koci threw his "stunner punch". unfortunatly this video doesnt show that view and u dont see that koci hit nothing but air. big z dominated koci and pummeled him throughout the entire fight. props to koci for not backing down. ask hal gill what it feels like to be bludgened by BIG Z! koci is just another victim

Total domination, having you nose blow up and only grazing on the punches you throw.... not much went Koci's way

If Belak hadn't broken and cut Koci's nose earlier, this fight wouldn't even be remembered. Chara wins and Koci has heart.

I like Chara and all, but come on. How big of a goon do you have to be to take on a guy a few days after he'd broken his nose? If you want to fight someone, fight someone that isnt already injured. Low-class move. And honestly, this fight wasnt that great. Ive seen way better. Just because Koci got cut doesnt mean it was a great fight.

Both men deserve equal respect and credit. Koci skated off like a man and Chara handled himself with class. Good fight, a lot of blood...tough guys all around!
