David Koci vs Zdeno Chara

Chara absolutely pumbled Koci. Koci didn't land one shot. The only punch Koci threw that at first glance appeared to land and stun Chara actually missed and at the same time Chara countered with a big straight right that bloodied Koci badly. Chara went to the knee after throwing that punch so everyone thought Koci rattled Chara with that punch. Just an absolute punishment handed out by Big Z. Give credit to Koci for hanging in there despite not being able to see from the amount of blood pouring from his face.

this fight isnt as bad as it looks,koci had a previous cut on his nose from belak, do you see chara land a bomb that could do that much damage? i dont either...its very clear to me all the blood is from the helmet rubbing against his past cut...koci landed the huge bomb early & chara never really makes any solid contact

Nice to see Chara still has that mean streak. He looked like the old Chara and I think the game is better with him playing like that

Great fight, Koci is brave, nobody else figths with broken nose! Win Chara, but only close.

Koci never landed a "bomb", watch the slow motion towards the end, he is 2 feet away from hitting Chara when Z loses his balance. Respect to Koci for fighting but he lost big time in this one.

That was almost a simultaneous KO, Koci took one right on the busted beak, and Chara was staggered. WOW!

Obvious winner, gotta respect Koci though, didn't even go down when he got cut open. Win Chara.

As a huge Blackhawks and hockey fight fan, this one goes to Chara. The long reach had a lot to do with Koci not being able to get anything going. The punch that rebroke Koci's nose was the right that was square on the beak when Koci threw his right. Otherwise, Chara was hitting helmet.

For the haters, you can't say he got his butt handed to him. He showed a lot of heart and toughness after the shot that busted him open. Maybe not smart, but he's to that type of fighter to bail out. A TKO loss, yes. A complete butt whooping, no way. You can't judge a butt whooping by the amount of blood, or a busted nose for that matter. Anyone remember Steve McLaren v. Scott Parker?

Koci is still very new to the NHL way of fighting. He has been very impressive since coming up, but I still think he needs more experience. Koci is definitely getting better with each fight. Taking on the heavyweights

Should there ever be a rematch, things should turn out a bit different.

Win to Chara. I can not believe Koci fought 5 days after having his nose already severely broken. This just hurt it further and sent him on a trip to the IR. I can't wait for a rematch with a completely healthy Koci!
