David Koci vs Zdeno Chara

Easy win Chara. It's hard to beat a big man like that. He can be beaten though. I expected more from Koci, but it just goes to show he is human.

David Koci's nose and face reminded me of Jeff Odgers.Koci has a heart but needs to let the broken nose heal longer than 2 nites before he picks a fight.

Hey chelios247, you obviously were not at this game, and despite your clear dislike of Chara, your assessment of this fight is as far off as the full moon!! I like this Koci kid, and he shows a lot of courage, but he got tagged with the fourth right that Charra threw, and it had nothing to do with a previously broken nose. Chara landed a vicious right, square on Koci's forehead, just above the bridge of the nose which cut him badly and stunned him, and any other guy in the league probably would have been done...Chara's right hand took some damage from that shot too. I can't believe that Koci was able to get his wits back and stand in there toe to toe, and keep throwing. However, Koci never landed anything...the so-called shot that you refer to never touched Chara, and it didn't buckle his knees. Chara had momentarily lost his balance and was going down to a knee as Koci threw that bomb that hit nothing but the Garden air. Bottomline, Koci got TKO'd and he was hurt, and Chara was unscathed, like it or not. I can't say that Koci is the best fighter at this time in the NHL, but he has got to be the toughest...anyone else would have been down on the ice, KO'd!! By the way, Chara showed some real class at the end of the fight by asking Koci if he was alright...this was the best fight thus far in the NHL 07-08 season!!

TKO win for Chara--he wins on cuts. Fighting with a busted beak requires that precise combination of balls and stupidity.

Chara hit Koci once. Everything else was in the helmet. Give Koci a lot of credit. The fight the other night busted him up pretty bad. Have to give this one to Chara, but the rematch might be alot different when Koci is healthy.

Ummm.... I am very baffeled about Koci's cut. It was very severe, yet how the hell do you punch a whole on through someone's forhead?? Did the helmet cut him?? ...wish there was a better angle.

PS, I have seen most of Chara's fights, and I can tell you that he is not a good fighter!! He got lucky w/ this one punch on Koci. Otherwise, it be either takedownd or most likely Koci beating his ass. ...but still, Chara won it fair and square. Vin is a win!!! Good job to both :)
