ya smart! take your helmet off because you wear a visor; thats the stupidest thing i've ever heard ! step on a stick and get brain damage hitting your head on the ice, thats the tough thing to do. comments like that come from people who have never been in a hockey fight.

Wah Wah, Visor...Wah Wah...If Veilleux had half a brain he would have flipped the bucket off when he had his hand behind phaneufs head instead of grabbing his jersey.
Phaneuf's a beauty, and I'd rather see him where a visor, then lose an eye and never play the same. He's not a fighter he's a skilled guy, he shouldn't have to waist his time with a meat head that plays 5 minutes of a game.

Stephane must be on drugs to fight Phaneuf, but the courage was great. Boogie will take care of him next time around.

Neither player took off his helmet because there wasn't the time and it wasn't an issue to either player. Dion REMOVED Stephane's helmet and if it was important enough, or if he was physically able to, Stephane might have considered removing Dion's.

As it stands, it's not even close and Dion dominated. Thanks for demonstrating why we need an informed electorate. I just discovered a bunch of liberal voters by reading the comments.

Why would it matter if Dion's wearing a visor when Veilleux gets the instigator penalty? If they talked it over, and agreed to fight, then sure, take off the helmet. Read the comments.

Veilleux tries to jump Phaneuf and gets owned.

If Phaueuf is going to cheap shot people from behind, he better take of his helmet and stand toe-to-toe with Boogard. Til then, he's a punk.

For all you IDIOTS that are chirping Dion for not taking off his bucket...STOP WATCHING HOCKEY FIGHTS...He got jumped, plain and simple. And then made Veilleux look like a donkey. And for Detriotlan, its obvious that you are a fan of a team full of *******, so you would have no clue about what goes on in a fight!

Way to be a man Phaneuf. Next time, take the helmet (with visor) off. Always nice to see teammates standing up for each other. Good job with that Veilleux.

I gotta give props to Veilleux for sticking up for his teammate, but Phaneuf owned him in this fight. Gotta agree with the others about losing the visor, though. It ticks me off every time I see somebody fighting with their gear on.

It sucks that Paneuf scrapped with his visor on, but it really didn't matter, I don't think Veilleux got a single shot in. And when the hell was he supposed to take his bucket off? Someone suggested he should have tried when he had Veilleux bent over, what's the point? At that point it was all over. Or maybe he should have been smart enough to realise that he was going to get jumped and taken it off then. And folks, I have never seen Dion go looking for a fight, so all of you that say he should step up with Boogard, are pretty much confused. If Boogard was on the ice at the time and come to the defence of his players then Dion would go him, but why the hell would Dion go looking for Boogard? Boogard has to work on figuring out Goddard first.

Dion is a cheap shot artist

Dion should've taken his helmet off, though he was still a clear winner. Keeping a visor on when fighting is a *****'s way out.
