Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Oct 11, 2007 New York Islanders Andy Sutton
3pd 11:00 Toronto Maple Leafs Wade Belak
Comments: Belak shoves Sutton to the ice along the boards. Sutton gets back to his feet and exchanges words with Belak, resulting in the two dropping the gloves. They grab ahold of each other and Sutton throws a right to start things off. Belak returns fire with three of his own. Sutton responds with a flurry of six straight rights to Belak's head and body before Belak can answer back. They keep their distance from each other and go back and forth with long rights that come up short for the most part. Belak connects with a body shot and an overhand right. They then decide to hold on until the linesmen are ready to intervene. Other Penalties: Kris Newbury received an unsportsmanlike conduct.

Draw, or win for Sutton based on the fact he had better positioning. But he didn't "punch his helmet off" he pulled it off, they way some people seem to see these fights is hilarious.

Not for nothing who wrote the Comments part "Sutton with a flurry of six straight rights to the head and body" In which fight was that, certainly not the one they just had. Sutton sucks and Belak is terrible

Sutton should get some more practice in.

Belak never landed a single punch, and Sutton got in one or two good shots when he knocked Belak's helmet off. It looked like Belak was bleeding on the side of his head. Sutton is the obvious winner.

Sutton wins by a punch. Both these guys can do a hell of a lot better.

Despite a lack of big blows, I liked the fight. It was two guys who know that they're doing. Both tried throwing, landing a little, but both guys were effectively locked out by the other. Hockey fighting at its most technical. A draw

barely give it to Sutton because he actually made contact (note the left jabs and the rights taking the helmet off belak) where as if belak made any contact with any of his punches, it was to the...arm?

As an Islander fan, i've been wondering how decent a fighter Sutton actually was...not Eric Cairns (who would have loved to go after Belak i'm sure) but nice to see him at least hold is own.
