Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Oct 11, 2007 New York Islanders Andy Sutton
3pd 11:00 Toronto Maple Leafs Wade Belak
Comments: Belak shoves Sutton to the ice along the boards. Sutton gets back to his feet and exchanges words with Belak, resulting in the two dropping the gloves. They grab ahold of each other and Sutton throws a right to start things off. Belak returns fire with three of his own. Sutton responds with a flurry of six straight rights to Belak's head and body before Belak can answer back. They keep their distance from each other and go back and forth with long rights that come up short for the most part. Belak connects with a body shot and an overhand right. They then decide to hold on until the linesmen are ready to intervene. Other Penalties: Kris Newbury received an unsportsmanlike conduct.

Not one of Belak's punches landed. Sutton landed maybe one or two shots. Decent scrap. Sutton gets the edge here.

I say draw due to lack of damaging punches. Two tall guys locking each other out. I'd always been curious about Sutton's skill as a fighter after seeing him regularly as a Thrasher vs my squad.

He did just fine vs a noted heavy in Belak. Good to see a huge guy show some nasty to go with his imposing size.

Belak's obviously looked better............an upset here

Not a bad fight between two big boys! I have to give the edge to Sutton becasue he tagged Belak a couple of times and it didn't appear as if Sutton got hit with anything significant.

Not a great scrap, but OK.
Sutton did a very good job, GO GO ANDY!!
They didn't land really much of a clean punches.
Their punches comes mostly shortly to the mark or grazes to other.
A draw.

Btw, i agree Headcharge as he said that the hockey fightning is mostly about technical.

Sutton wins by a punch. Both these guys can do a hell of a lot better.

Belak is becoming less and less impressive each fight . . . .

Good fight in terms of how each player approached it. The only place it really fell short was the fact that Wade Belak just can't seem to connect when he swings his arms. Sutton clearly gets the win on tthe basis that he actually punched Belak at some point during the fight, while Belak just kind of punched at air.
