Oct 7, 2007 San Jose Sharks Douglas Murray
3pd 04:08 Colorado Avalanche Ian Laperriere
Laperriere knocks Murray down with a hit along the boards. Murray gets up and challenges Laperriere who turns around and agrees. They drop the gloves and grab ahold of each other near the blueline. They tie each other up and struggle to get loose. Murray throws a short right and they continue to grapple. Laperriere gets his left free and throws four to the back of Murray's head. They each get off some lefts. Murray gets Laperriere bent over and gets in three rights while he wrestles Laperriere down to the ice. Once they hit the playing surface the linesmen are right there to break things up.

i like how murray took his helmet off considering he was wearing a visor. I saw a couple people in the preseason who were fighting and not taking their damn visors off.

Not a great fight, but I gave the edge to Murray. Lappy jumped him before he could get his gloves off and then ended up just trying to pull Murray down on top of him. Didn't seem to want to really get into it.

Murray always takes off his lid if he can. Stand up guy.

I think all fighters should ditch their helmets like Murray, or else you're going to end up like Darcy Tucker and get a game misconduct because you ripped off your opponents helmet and it got stuck on your hand while you leveled him.

Murray uses a great 'stiff arm' to keep Laperriere away and land enough blows to win

Draw, but huge points for Murray for taking off the helmet with visor before throwing.

Weak bout right there. Ian Laperriere is a ***** in my opinion. He never does any real damage in any of his fights. Doug Murray wasn't looking too good either. Definitely a draw.
