Oct 6, 2007 New Jersey Devils Arron Asham
3pd 15:52 Florida Panthers Nathan Horton
Horton rides Jay Pandolfo along the boards, with Pandolfo's head hitting the glass in between the player benches. Right off of the ensuing faceoff the Asham and Horton drop the gloves and grab ahold of each other at the blueline. Horton throws two rights while Asham gets himself situated. Horton grazes Asham with a straight right. Asham comes back with some rights to the helmet and body of Horton. Horton gets Asham bent over and gets in three rights. Asham answers with an overhand right. Horton responds with four answered rights, including an uppercut. Asham lands a short right and they wrestle up against the glass. They go back and forth with rights until Horton takes control and hammers Asham down to the ice.

The rest of the league should take note: this kid can do more than score goals! A decisive win for Horton in one of the better fights I've seen so far this season.

Spirited bout. Horton landing the better shots.

Good fight, very fun to watch. Pretty sleezy move by Horton at the end though not letting Asham get back up. If the two squared off and went at it, I think asham could easily get a W. Hears to a rematch later in the season!

I'm big panther fan (theres not many of us) and this team has been going through so many troubles and frustrations! we're 0-2 after a preseason of so much hard work and preparation and hype, so its really frustrating. But that fight let it out not only for Nathan but the fans too! That was really important to this hockey team because it showed a lot of heart coming from a player that is capable of this, but his seemed really timid since his rookie season, it just let it out! FINALLY! I think we can expect to see more Nathan and don't be suprised if you see Olli Jokenin on here a few times (he just won't be as entertaining).

Asham is a much better fighter than Horton but Horton clearly wins this one with some agressive start to the fight...didn't see the game but makes me think Horton must've been really pissed off..he doesn't fight often.
