Comments: The two drop the gloves away from the play and square off near the blueline. They grab ahold of each other and exchange rights while spinning around. Parros loses his balance and falls to his knees. Thornton gets in a pair of lefts while Parros stands back up. Thornton switches hands and throws two rights. Parros tries to answer with a right hook, but misses. Parros throws two more rights at a bent over Thornton. Thornton ties Parros up and then swings away with a flurry of lefts and rights. They then go back and forth with a few more rights before falling to the ice.

Old man Thornton took it to the Ivy league enforcer.

Good fight, win goes to Thornton in this one. Good show for a guy that is certainly no spring chicken. Love the announcers talking about the people "not leaving the building in disgust."

Absolutely excellent to finally see one of these bouts in the UK.... the atmosphere was off the scale!

Parros went looking with Ivanans the night before but got nothing and it was Thornton looking for this about 2 shifts before. Fantastic.

Thornton controlled this one from the start. Parros looked like he underestimated Scott, hope he learned a lesson here.

Parros, despite his Princton education, can only fight in the NHL, as his skating and hockey talents are minimal. But then again, he clearly lost to an aging Thornton.

Thornton stood up to George and took as many as he gave. I think he got in the better shots, so I gave him a split decision..lol

Thornton surprisingly easily!

Parros at the time of the fight was widely believed to come out the winner easily. But Scott Thronton showed how experience can overcome expectations.

The Kings and Ducks split the series. But the Kings take the European Fight Belt.

Parros landed a few but basically got soundly beaten.

Great fight to start the year... Thornton wins, therefore the Kings won the first game and fight of the year... Great accomplishment!

decent bout. Gotta give it to Thornton, he landed a lot of good shots on a pretty good fighter. Parros lost his balance and never got a clean shot.
