Mar 27, 2007 Columbus Blue Jackets Jody Shelley
2pd 10:30 St. Louis Blues D.J. King
Comments: Behind the play they drop the gloves near the side boards and grab ahold of each other. They start exchanging simultaneous jersey-jabs and each get in a right as well. King gets in an uppercut and they start throwing jersey-jabs once again. King gets the better of the exchange this time around. Shelley throws a right to the back of King's head while they are grappling in tight. King gets Shelley bent over to the side and throws four short lefts before the linesmen decide to move in and end the fight.

King won this one on points. Jody stopped too many jersey-jabs with his face.

Great battle. They actually threw punches, THank god Laraque wasnt there to start wrestling everybody.

I think it was a draw. Those punches didn't even phase Shelley, neither of them went down and all the real punches that King tried to throw he didn't even land one. Shelley didn't expect those short little jabs from King so he was just waiting to get set and then the linesmen step in when they are getting square. Kind of a gay fight though, just like the Brashear and Laroque one last night.

King's been training with the Shelley Speed Bag.

Interesting to see King take a totally different stance in this fight compared to his other fights. The jersey jabbing was weak but effective as it kept Jody from really trying to throw. Wish this one could have gone longer, linesmen were gay to step in there. Win for King.

Jersey Jabs for Everyone!!! Not a particularily exciting bouts. Both guys contribute about a dozen stiff-armed jersey jabs and then hug for a while before being broken up. King would have to be the winner only because he did a little more damage and managed to wrap up Shelley at the end. All in all, not completely satisfying, but a fight nonetheless.
