Mar 27, 2007 Columbus Blue Jackets Jody Shelley
2pd 10:30 St. Louis Blues D.J. King
Behind the play they drop the gloves near the side boards and grab ahold of each other. They start exchanging simultaneous jersey-jabs and each get in a right as well. King gets in an uppercut and they start throwing jersey-jabs once again. King gets the better of the exchange this time around. Shelley throws a right to the back of King's head while they are grappling in tight. King gets Shelley bent over to the side and throws four short lefts before the linesmen decide to move in and end the fight.

I said King is moving up the tough guy list when he fought Boogeyman and now he takes on the Jackeys tough guy and he wants no part of him. King is the real deal! Why did the ref's jump in? Way too soon!

Nice scrap by King there. I loved the flurry of jabs, you don't see that kind of thing much but it sure was effective.

King controlled the fight the whole time...he worked good combos from the jersey jabs, then the right crosses...Shelley looked outmatched.

King did what he had to do, personally the "sweater jab" is more for show, very rarely does it amount to any damage. Disappointing bout in my opinion!

not a great fight not a really bad fight

Good scrap. Loved the King quick punches. Need to get rid of the clutch and grab of the jerseys and go toe to toe. After King's display of the quick jab, it may help get rid of the jersey grab dosie-doe technique.

From where I sat across the ice, it didn't look like Shelley landed anything. I thought he was supposed to be good.

DJ King all the way in this one, he got that left jab going and landed several shots.
