Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Mar 22, 2007 San Jose Sharks Mark Bell
2pd 14:35 Atlanta Thrashers Jon Sim
Behind the play they drop the gloves and grab onto each other next to the benches. Sim tries an overhand right that hits the side of Bell's helmet. Bell comes back with an uppercut that hits Sim's shoulder while Sim turns away from Bell. Sim sticks his head down and tries three times to get underneath Bell's left arm and stay there, but each time Bell is able to hold him off. Bell throws a right to the top of Sim's head and then pulls Sim's jersey up and over his head. Bell then connects with an uppercut and a right cross and quickly sends Sim to the ice. Bell lets go immediately and starts to skate to the penalty box. Sim remains down on the ice for a moment until he is helped to his feet by one of the linesmen.

It look as though Bell was fighting his 11 year old brother. What was Sim thinking? I hope he went to the locker-room and enjoyed his ice cream cone.

Winner Bell.

Bell is a happy drunk, and he is never happier than when he is beating the hell out of a midget.

Not sure what effect Sim was looking for here, because it certainly didn't inspire his team on. He's lucky Bell didn't put him in the hospital, trying to fight the way he did...as the Atlanta commentator said, being bent over with your head down is grounds for getting knocked out! Bell outmatched him badly, reference size difference, etc. Bell really stung Sim at the very end of the fight with what appeared to be a pretty direct uppercut to the chin...Sim was down on a knee and very slow to get back to the bench. Maybe Exelby or Hnidy should have given it a go with Bell...Bell is one tough customer!!

Watching the game and seeing there was a fight it didn't shock me since the goals the Sharks just scored. When i heard it was Sim, I was a little suprised.

Bell has been in the most fights on the Sharks this year, but I wouldn't say he's a real fighter, but willing when the time calls for it. I think he's figured out he can help the team out by doing this when needed since his points have gone way down this year, doing whatever he can to help out!

How could anyone vote Sim won this fight? This was pure domination and most of the time Bell was just holding him away, are you sure, you really sure, come on, okay, you asked for it.....BAM

Go Sharks!

always liked john sim- he's not a fighter hes a gritty player though and that makes other players want to fight him. I remember his brief stint with the flyers he was fun to watch...win bell obviously.

Midgets shouldn't be allowed to fight in the NHL.

Sim is a flippin' retard and deserved the knuckle sandwich.

Basically a dance, just missing the music.

Sim reminds me of a lil ankle biter toy dog. Stay on the porch.

That is all the Thrashers needed was for a guy in their top 6 to go down in a worthless fight. Hopefully it doesn't determine Atlanta's playoff chances. Now Bob Hartley is sent scrambling again to find a guy to play opposite of Ilya Kovalchuk. It took about 40 games to find him a wing-mate and all season to find him a center in Keith Tkachuk...At Least Don Waddell the GM was smart enough to grab Pascal Dupuis who may take Sim's place...Hopefully SImmer will be back for the last few games and playoffs...to play on the 4th line?

not a very good fight Bell dominated because of huge height difference

FYI, Sim broke his orbital bone around his eye on Bell's fist. Not sure how long he'll be out.

After jockeying for position for a while, Bell finally got the shot he wanted in. A clean uppercut put Sim down and out...for the rest of the season with a broken orbital bone. Sim was way out of his league in this one.

Sim had no business matching up with Bell... no contest
