This is what happens when you take cheap shots on skill players. The Ducks were up I think 5-1 when this fight happened and were taking it easy on the Hawks. Ruutu is an idiot and deserved what he got.

This all started in the game prior to this one versus Columbus when Andy McDonald had a couple of runs taken at him, including a big non-call when he was boarded. Then earlier in this game McDonald was boarded by another Chigago player, and when he noticed there was no call he went after the guy, quickly followed by Selanne, no gloves dropped it was just a scrum. So then this happens AGAIN and this time Kunitz steps up for his teammate, comes at Ruutu from the front and lays into him just as he should, well worth the 5 minutes and game misconduct for Kunitz. Also great to see someone other then the typical "enforcers" out there sticking up for their teammates. If Ruutu keeps his stick down and throws a clean check then it's a completly different situation, but in this case more power to Kunitz.

Visor or not, Ruutu is a turtle....a cheap shot artist punk turtle. Why turtle from Kunitz? Was he afraid of a talent player with 1 prior career fight?

Kunitz did what was right, Ruutu has to learn that there is consequences to doing stupid things. In the NHL you get your A$$ beat for doing stupid stuff, as it should be. I am pretty sure he is thanking his lucky stars that it was first liner Kunitz there instead of parros or moen or someone that wouldve beat him even more than Kunitz did.

Who voted this a DRAW?

Ruttu didnt throw a punch. He ducked and covered, as Kunitz was dropping bombs on his. SO you can only say that Kunitz won, due to the fact, he was the only one fighting. I wouldnt consider it a fight though. Ruttu was playing the claude lemeuix role, getting under peoples skin, and got beaten for it. Although Kunitz had his gloves dropped before Ruttu even saw him. Scumbag move.

Ruutu is a p*ssy - cheap shot rake across McDonald's visor with his stick - if McDonald didn't have a visor it would have been a 5 minute major. Ducks started to take it easy on them - after being up 5-0; Kunitz, not known as a brawler could have beaten the crap out of him, but he let up. Ruutu saw Kunitz coming and just turtled - got Chi back in the game due to the 5 minute major. I don't want to hear about cheapshots from chicken hawk fans - remember the Gary Suter/Paul Kariya incident - Ducks don't take that crap anymore....Ruutu was not jumped from behind or down on one knee - Kunitz came head on into him- Ruutu should have expected someone to come looking for him after that cheapshot - it's not like it was Shawn Thornton or George Parros-Kunitz is smaller than Ruutu-this was his first fighting major all season - no wonder Chicago sucks..no heart
