Mar 07, 2007 Los Angeles Kings Raitis Ivanans
1pd 04:30 Columbus Blue Jackets Jody Shelley
Comments: They both step out of the penalty box and immediately drop their gloves. Shelley attempts a right that misses just before grabbing ahold of Ivanans. Ivanans shoves Shelley up against the boards and throws a right. Shelley comes back with a right and follows that up with three quick rights, the first one connecting and snapping Ivanans' head back. They then go back and forth with some rights until they lose their balance and fall to the ice. They get back up to their feet, but the linesmen are right there to grab them and end the fight.

Win Shelly

Shelley, who has been up and down this year, gets a win by landing two good rights. One snapped ivanas' head back clearly. A short but spirited fight with top ten implications. Too bad it was shortened. The punches were close but Jody landed the best one.

A close "win" but still a win to me.

win for shelley. Have you read his poem " the Masque of Anarchy" ?

Men of England, heirs of Glory,
Heroes of unwritten story,
Nurslings of one mighty Mother,
Hopes of her, and one another;
Rise like Lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number,
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you-
Ye are many — they are few.

oh hang on that was Percy Bysshe Shelley my bad.

Raitis Ivanans vs Jody Shelley

These two previously dropped their gloves, but the linesmen broke it up and gave them unsportsmanlike minors. As soon as they step out of the box, Shelley challenges Ivanans and they drop the gloves. Shelley starts off with a right, but misses, then Ivanans throws a right, looking to connect. Shelley responds with four straight rights, connecting with the first one. Then, they trade rights, nothing landing, just hitting the helmet. After that, Shelley falls to his knees, and Ivanans also loses his balance and they fall to the ice. Shelley rolls over top of Ivanans, and they continue to try and scrap, but the linesmen intervene.
