The hit WAS FROM BEHIND. Elbow was tucked at contact, only a split second after Drury released the puck, nice follow through with his arms. Other than the angle he came in at, a good job by Neil of finishing his check (Drury should have had his head up). I think that Ruff saw the follow through with the arm and thought he saw an elbow.

Even if the hit was perfectly clean, Neil had caught the Buffalo Capt. flat footed and ran him. A reaction had to be expected. No excuse for putting skill players out there.

I understand that Buffalo had to send a message after Drury got hit, and they did just that. The Sens deserved what they got.
However, the refs should have taken Peters off the ice before he jumped Emery. Seems like Emery was the only Sen on the ice that could fight.

For all you who think ruff is wrong, the sabres lost 6 players in 6 games, 3 of which were against the sens. They needed to start protecting their players. And the start of the brawl happened when heatley crosschecked kalleta to the chest before the faceoff. So please dont cry when they got their asses handed to them. And the hit was a little late, the issue was it was an intent to injure, and neil left his feet to hit drury in the head. The same exact hit by jansen earned a 3 game suspension. And its ok for neil to be out against the sabres top plyaers, but not ok for the sabres to do the same? Dont be so ignorant craig.
