Feb 09, 2007 Chicago Blackhawks Martin Lapointe
1pd 13:37 Edmonton Oilers Zack Stortini
Comments: These two drop the gloves right off of a faceoff and get in-tight quickly. Stortini gets it started with a few short lefts. Lapointe tries a couple of rights, but there's not much behind them as they're still in-close. They continue to try a short punch here and there while they grapple. Stortini is able to get a little room and throw an overhand right to a bent-over Lapointe, who picks up Stortini and body slams him to the ice.

Stortini was more active and possibly more effective but no damage was done in a in close (brashear style) fight.

I didn't see either combatant gain a defiinitive edge. However, I like the finishing body slam.

Had Stortini put him down on the ice, it would of been total pwnage on his part. However, he let Lapointe drag him down. Its a draw.

Marty's a very srong and hot hockey player and he hasn't fought anyone his size. He doesn't take crap and he surprises his opponents. I hope he comes back to the D cause we have NOBODY who can throw down.

Not much of a fight, but Lapointe new he was up against a bigger guy and took away that reach advantage by getting in close right away. Thats pretty smart.

big hugfest, but stortini got in the better shots. both big strong guys and good fighters, so it played out in real life just like it does on paper. lapointe got the takedown, but slight edge to stortini for getting the best shot in.

Being an unfortunate Blackhawks fan, I always try to judge Blackhawk players with great scrutiny so as to not look like a homer. LaformerredwingscumbagonegoodyearintheNHL has to get in tight with a guy like Meatball Spaghetti. Does he get extra points for fighting a fight that gives him the best shot at winning the fight? No! Take a chance step back and try to sneak a punch in for christ sake!. Lawhatshisname maybe got in a few more little rabbit punches but big deal. A draw in an OK fight at best.
