Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Feb 2, 2007 Columbus Blue Jackets Zenon Konopka
2pd 14:28 Calgary Flames Eric Godard
Konopka tries to play the puck along the boards, but he is greeted by Godard in retaliation for Konopka going after Jarome Iginla earlier on. Godard quickly drops his gloves and starts throwing rights, forcing Konopka to do the same. They wrestle up against the glass and Konopka throws a few rights of his own. Godard's jersey starts to come off and it completely frees his right hand. Godard takes advantage and throws five quick rights while Konopka tries to move away from the shots. Konopka ducks away from Godard and throws a body shot while Godard stands back. They each get in a short right and Konopka throws some blind rights while Godard holds his head down. Finally Godard wraps Konopka up against the glass and the linesmen intervene. Other Penalties: Godard received an instigator and misconduct.

How can one give godard the win considering he doesn't even let the other guy drop his gloves before he swung at him. Draw because you cant give the win to a man willing to fight before gloves are off.

It's a good and long scrap.
Konopka did pretty well against much better.
He hung in there as Godard mostly controlled him but...
Konopka threw back well of his own, with good result.
A DRAW.

Zenon Konopka vs Eric Godard

Eric Godard skates over to Zenon Konopka along the boards, gives Konopka a couple shoves, then drops his gloves and begins throwing punches. Godard throws four straight rights, then Konopka throws a few right body punches. Godard throws about four more straight rights, ripping off Konopka's helmet. Konopka starts to lose his balance, but quickly regains it. Konopka responds, connecting with a solid right, then Godard comes back, connecting with a solid right to the back of Konopka's head. Konokpka throws two more rights, followed by a body punch. Konopka throws one last right, possibly connecting, then they come in tight, and the linesmen intervene.

Good job enforcing by Godard. 5-1 lead, time to make an example of Konopka for messing with Iginla. Godard totally jumped him but a fight is a fight. WIN Godard, good showing for Special K.

I have Konopka on points. Godard looked to be man-handling him, but he never even hit him, just wrestled with him and swung him around a bit. Is it me, or did Godard even throw more than 3 shots the whole fight? No points for dancing, Gentlemen. Davey gets the edge over Goliath.
