Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Jan 26, 2007 Calgary Flames Eric Godard
2pd 06:04 Minnesota Wild Derek Boogaard
The two line up next to each other on the faceoff and right after the puck drops they quickly shed the sticks and gloves. They grab ahold of one another and Boogaard starts things off with a right cross. They go back and forth with rights and Boogaard switches things up, connecting with a body shot. They exchange some more rights until Godard switches hands and connects with two lefts that knock Boogaard's helmet off. They go back and forth once more with a mix of jabs and hard rights. Boogaard then gets Godard's jersey over his head and connects with a right. They lose their balance and fall to the ice. Boogaard gets in two rights while they are down and the linesmen are quick to get in there and prevent anything else from happening.

I voted the fight a solid draw.

Both guys did damage, Boogaard with a cut under his eye, Godard with a cut lip.

Godard did throw some nasty jersey jabs, but those didnt win the fight IMO.

Boogaard landed more and took over at the end punching Godard to the ice.

Eric Godard vs Derek Boogaard

These two line up beside each other, and drop the gloves right off the draw. Derek Boogaard starts off with a right, missing the target. They get in tight on each other, and Eric Godard throws a right, hitting the top of Boogaard's helmet, and Boogaard responds with another right, hitting the side of Godard's helmet. Boogaard throws a right body punch, followed by an overhand right that misses. Then, Godard responds with a solid right, possibly hitting the target. They continue to exchange rights, although none are looking to connect. Godard gives Boogaard a few left jersey jabs, knocking his helmet off. Then, Godard looks to connect with a solid right, hitting the side of Boogaard's head. Boogaard comes back with a couple rights, knocking Godard's helmet off, but Godard throws a couple more left jersey jabs. Then, Boogaard connects with a solid right, hitting the side of Godard's head. Then, Godard responds, connecting with a solid right of his own, to the side of Boogaard's head. Godard's jersey comes up over his head, and Boogaard throws another right, causing Godard to lose his balance, falling to the ice. After that, Boogaard throws two more right while on the ice, and the linesmen move in.

Win for Boogaard, regardless of me being a Wild fan.

Anyone voting for Godard in that fight is a tard. 2 sweater jabs are not KO punches boys and girls.

Boo nailed him right in the face with a couple of wicked shots and easily takes the win.

Boogaard connected with better punches. Gets the slight edge in this good fight.

I would've given the slight edge to Godard for some nice jersey jabs, but Bogaard nullified that when he got Godard's shirt over his face and took him down. I'll call it a draw. The late punches by Bogaard were a little on the cheap side IMO.

I saw it as a draw, and I'm a fan of neither team. If you're looking to give the edge for injury, then perhaps Godard on points.

I guess in points terms both score a 10, but for the knockdown, Boogaard edges it.

I am not a wild fan or flames fan. Boogaard connected with one or two better punches. Boogaard gets the decision in a very good fight.

It is a draw. Great fight. Not a fan of either team, but looking forward to these two teams battling next year.
