Comments: They drop the gloves right off the faceoff, grab on and get in tight. Boogaard gets off a couple of rights, high and low as Godard tries to get his arm free. Godard gets a few rights off, but they come up short. Boogaard then lands a left and switches back to the right, landing a few high and mixing in one body shot. Boogaard lands a couple of more rights while Godard tries to get his own rights in that don't seem to reach. Boogaard mixes in a couple of more high and low rights and Godard slips his right arm inside Boogaard's grip. Godard then lands two hard shots and Boogaard goes to a knee, only to get up quickly. Godard quickly lands a couple of more shots sending Boogaard back to his knees. Godard then drags Boogaard down to prevent him from getting up again as the linesmen move in to break it up. After a moment in the penalty box, Boogaard went to the lockerroom and did not return to the game.

Boogard was dominating the fight early, but Godard showed tenacity by coming back at the end to win the bout.

Boogaard takes the loss in this fight but he will back to fight another day, cant keep the bigman down for long.

I'm a Minnesota fan and thin Boogaard sucked in that fight... Godard was the winner, no questions on that... Shame on Boogey... But I still like him!!

That was a great rivalry fight with some powerful punches. Boogaard was winning at the beggining after dishing out some heavy blows to the head but Godard stayed on his feet. Boogaard went down on one knee and got hammered by Godard. Godard finished off the fight by bringing boogard down to the ice. I give Godard the victory.

Thats why Boogard could not take Pronger right there. Still what a great fight by both of them. This time Godard got the best of him, Impressive. I'd like to see some fights of Godard I hadn't heard of him before.

Boogard is one of the toughest guys around, and Godard handled him. What does that tell you? Both of these guys will be around for a long time to come.

Godard caught him right behind the ear twice....those hits hurt like crazy and it is very easy to get knocked out when you get hit there. Excellent work by Godard. Gotta give Boogie credit...he never once gave up!

how often do you see boogard get taken down or even come close to losing a fight?!
with that size, power, and reach...major props to godard for doing the improbable
