Comments: A scrum develops in front of the Calgary net after the whistle blows. Chris Simon skates in and gives Bell a couple of shoves before Phaneuf grabs Bell from behind. Bell gives Phaneuf a little elbow before they start talking. Bell turns around and the two drop the gloves near the side boards with the linesmen trying to seperate the two. Phaneuf throws three quick rights before trying to rip Bell's helmet off. Bell throws a right as Phaneuf comes back with a few rights that hit the side of Bell's head. They wrestle around before Phaneuf throws two short uppercuts as Bell throws a right before they go against the glass. Phaneuf throws an overhand right while Bell is bent over. They skate out from against the boards as Bell throws a right and then switches hands, landing a couple of jersey-jabs. They then grapple for a short while before they exchange lefts, with Bell's punch landing. Bell throws another overhand right as Phaneuf lands a short right to the back of Bell's head before the linesmen intervene. Bell has a small cut on his nose as the two skate away to the penalty box.

Phaneuf should get in the habit of removing his helmet before a scrap. He is going to lose respect from opposing players if he keeps that up. He probably should concentrate on filling the net. (which he does quite well)

Not a great tilt, but hey there mailman1194 and mikebflorida, have either of you ever actually played real hockey? and not just some beer league crap, I mean competitive real hockey. It is not always a planned scrap that allows for you to remove the lid before fighting, sometimes when you are squaring up against someone you can do this but when a fight pops up like this, it's not really that easy to do. Now I agree, given the chance you absolutely shoud pull your bucket off, but It just can't always be done like that.
Maybe try being a player at a higher level than "armchair" before you toss that crap around.
P.S NHLPA 07 doesn't count.

What's with the Calgary tough guys? They all like to throw with their "sheilds" on. How about losing the " I'm a brave, tough guy" equipment and then trade punches. What a bunch a f**ken P***IES. Just to prove my point, last year in the 2006 playoffs, Iginla and Beuchemien decide to drop the gloves. Francois starts to take his helmit off, and after thinking about it , so does Iginla. Iginla gets dropped twice. That's what the f**k I'm talking about. As far as giving him "the edge for drawing blood", how about have some respect for the toughest game in the world and lose the protection. What a f**fin joke. He should be ashamed of himself. I'm not sure how long the fight was, but however long it was, his balls were inverted into a vagina. P.S. Iginla doesn't take his off very often.

Dion Phaneuf TAKES THE OTHER GUYS HELMIT OFF FAST BUT LEAVES HIS VISOR HELMIT ON? CHICKEN **** DECISION. AT LEAST IGINLA TAKES HIS HELMIT OFF BEFORE A SCRAP

Everyone always bitches about the visors, he wears one because he doesn't plan on fighting every night he is an elite defencemen it is not his job, at the same time if someone dropd the gloves to challenge him then he will oblige, Mark bell knew he had a visor and he didn't care, so stop using that bulls**t excuse. If a regular fighter who is expected to go more often wears one then that is a different story. Win Phaneuf.

phaneuf thinks he's tuff whit his visor take it off dion will see if your tuff

I give the win to Mark Bell only because of the visor. You have double the accuracy to land punches on a guy that has a visor on. Phaneuf is a good fighter but lose the visor when you drop them. That goes for all these "so called" tough guys that were visors.

They were in to close to cause much damage. Draw

Phaneuf and anyone else who starts a fight with a visor on should be castrated.
