Dec 17, 2005 Colorado Avalanche Brad May
3pd 02:24 New York Islanders Eric Godard
Godard throws a check on John-Michael Liles, who gets sent to his butt and slides into the boards. Cody McCormick skates over to Godard and gives him a slash to get him to go, but May comes skating in fast and Godard drops his gloves to go with an already gloveless May. They grab on and Godard throws a quick 4-5 rights, all landing to the side of May's head. They grapple a bit and exchange punches that don't land. May throws a right that misses and Godard counters with two rights that land. Godard waits, throws a couple of more rights, shakes off the elbow pad sticks with the right for a couple of more shots. May goes to switch to the left and when he does he opens himself up for a big right hand from Godard. They grapple a bit more and May tries to sneak in a right. Godard counters with a couple of more big shots that snap May's head back. They then hold on for the linesmen to come in. Both skaters skate a way with a smile. Other Penalties: Cody McCormick received a slashing.

Sorry, but if Godard... in his prime...

isn't, somewhere, on your ''All Time, Pound For Pound, Top Ten List''...

...then we probably shouldn't watch a game together.

OK, we can catch a game, but no nachos for you!

Godard with DECISIVE WIN here, he was clearly active of the two.

May did a lot of swinging and missing while Godard was doing more swinging and landing. It almost seemed like Godard got tired of beating on May and he was waiting for the linesmen to seperate them. Godard's the clear winner here.

Godard tunes the old man. Too bad Godard lost it this year. No longer a top 10 fighter.

Love May Day, but the younger Godard grinded out a very punishing TKO over May. Brad welcomed the intervention by officials, who watched a
vicious, but quality NHL TILT, by two guys meeting at the crossroads.
