Sloppy draw. The Jets will trade 5 minutes of Thorburn for 5 minutes of Simmons all day . . .

Draw. Simmonds might think about the team more and show a little restraint he is more valuable on the ice.

It wasnt a great one but I give the fight to simmonds by a hair... although the overall effect of the fight definately goes to simmonds. Prior to the bout the Flyers looked dull posting just one shot to the 12 the jets had fired off. After the fight, the flyers went on a 16-0 shooting streak to finish out the period. The flame was lit, Philadelphia came out of their stupor and the Flyers rode that energy through the rest of the game.

As with most Simmonds fights, very slow paced, nothing eventful developed... Draw...

I'm giving it to Thorburn...he's the only one to land a punch. And I mean a single punch. Simmons threw a couple wild ones but nothing came close to landing

Simmonds clearly won this fight....but more importantly gave his team the boost it needed to come out and win a tough game 5-3. Also, this was Simmonds second Gordie in 3 games. He's been a BEAST for the Flyers! Especially with in my opinion HARTNELL down to injury Simmonds stepped his game up big time, he can score, fight, assist, and he is everything a team wants in a player as far as leaving it all on the ice...Simmonds NEVER gives up on anything!

Thorburg landed the only punch.

They both needed to stay on their skates to make something of this.

Thorburg with a (blah) win.

Both guys initially opt for the right arm tie-up jersey grip
which negated any chance of any real action
during the first half of the fight

Then both awkwardly try to go south paw
which in turn
negated any chance for action
during the second half

Therefore with nothing much to report on
I'd like to take a moment to thank the makers
of Thornburns' new chin strap
for keeping the mullet exposure to a minimum
